2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIt's over! Bernie Sanders will win at least 90% of the vote
in all the remaining states. For sure. None will be close races. They'll all be blowouts for Bernie, now that people know who he is. To know him is to love him. Hillary won't even get the 15% needed to get a single pledged delegate.
The rest of the primary campaign isn't worth bothering with. Bernie has it in the bag! Do the math and it's obvious.
Yeah, that's the ticket...

(146,318 posts)I just wrapped up my day's work and am waiting to walk the dogs. Then, I'll talk to my 91-year-old parents in California for half an hour and think about preparing tonight's evening meal.
So, for the moment, I'm at loose ends.
Thanks for asking.

(5,946 posts)my problem is I have to do gardening and I just don't want to do it. But I will really in a minute. The other problem is even when my dog wants to sleep, it has to be on my feet. she is way too attached I need another vacation.
My parents are dead, I wish they could have made it to their 90's. You are lucky to have them. But you would think a dog and parent loving person would have more insightful things to post about. Just saying, and now I am out of here.

I am counting the days to June 8 when Skinner explains the rules of posting and strictly enforces them.
No more attacking by EITHER side, no more insults, no more of the crap that has infected this forum for too long.
I'd wager that MMan has gotten very, very tired of it all as have many of us.
Don't presume to know what his standards for himself are. I haven't a clue. Neither you nor I have met the man.
But I read his posts because he has decades of service to the Democratic Party. He has done the grunt work, the shit work that so many Democrats can't be bothered with doing. He worked his way up in the party the right way. So he has my complete and committed respect.

(42,715 posts)April 22 through June 3: Clinton wins 6 of nine primaries
Pennsylvania - Clinton
Indiana -- Clinton
North Carolina -- Obama
West VA -- Clinton
Kentucky -- Clinton
Oregon -- Obama
Puerto Rico -- Clinton
Montana -- Obama
South Dakota -- Clinton
In 2008 there was a long break in March and April -- you have to go all the way back to March 11 to include the primary that preceded April 22. That was the Mississippi primary, which Obama won, upping his record for the last 10 primaries to 4 of 10. But if you then go back another week, to March 4, the primary results are wins for Clinton in Ohio, Rhode Island and Texas, and a win for Obama in Vermont.
So the scorecard for the last fourteen primaries is 9 wins for Clinton and only 4 wins for Obama.
kstewart33
(6,551 posts)Bernie is winning in the whitey states - West Virginia of late and most likely Oregon. Maybe Kentucky.
And then, thank bejeezus, nothing until June 7 when all of this spitting and snarling will be over. Hopefully.

(7,318 posts)campaign and supporters have been over-the-top racially devisive. Bookmarking for your super fine example of it!
This is actually alarming because in order for you to have labeled particular states as 'whitey states' you had to have also identified particular states as their opposites. Yeah, we can all guess what you call those states.
Just adding it to the Hillary Clinton campaign/supporter's list of racial phrases:
"whitey states"
"black firewall"
"super-predator"
"bring them to heel"

(546 posts)Bernie Sanders didn't get 90% of the vote in either Nebraska or West Virginia just two days ago.
In West Virginia Bernie picked up 18 delegates and Hillary got 11 delegates and in Nebraska, Hillary got 53% of the popular vote.
Hillary Clinton is only 164 delegates away from wrapping it up, easy-peasy

(40,416 posts)You have become one of the reasons that GD.P has become a toxic waste dump.
Just a few weeks ago you reasonably made your arguments. Now you are adding waste to the dump.
I don't do ignore lists, but I will be filtering your normally well reasoned posts, now for some reason, no longer reasonable, but divisive and counter to uniting behind the Democratic nominee, which if it's Hillary, may be a real problem in November.
N.B., I voted for Bernie in the MI primary, but will support the Dem nominee in November. (That is how one unites the party.)
I am sad for your recent posts.

(1,446 posts)The repub house is totally going to support universal healthcare and free college tuition. They are also anxious to destroy the banking industry and execute rich people. Bernie is just so dynamic and persuasive, that he will convince those on all sides to just follow along blindly. With all their free time, now that they don't have to fight, I hear Bernie is going to form an all-congressional a cappella group.

(45,319 posts)At this point, I'm going to leave the primaries completely
up to the voters and stop commenting on them in GDP. I will, instead, focus on the general election and the need to GOTV to elect Democrats to all offices, not just the presidency. The Democratic primaries will be decided, as always by people who actually turn out to their polling place or caucus, not by people attacking the Democratic candidates in those primaries.

(11,175 posts)I had the best of both worlds by voting to let it stand (I don't vote to hide just because I disagree with a post) but also, as Juror #1, expressing my disagreement.
Side note to Juror #5: I understood perfectly well that it was sarcasm. It's a typical straw-man tactic -- present a ridiculous argument as if you believe it, but with the sarcasm evident, to make the point that your adversaries are propounding ridiculous arguments. It's a lazy way of avoiding coming to grips with what they're actually saying.
On Thu May 12, 2016, 05:49 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
It's over! Bernie Sanders will win at least 90% of the vote
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511950053
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
poster is begging for a reaction in this clearly antagonistic post, which has no real value and adds nothing to the primary discussion
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu May 12, 2016, 05:59 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I agree with everything the alerter says. I'll add that the alerted post is "refuting" a ridiculous straw-man argument -- another reason that it adds nothing to the discussion. My point of disagreement is that I don't think flagrant stupidity, even with the added spice of a small-minded motive, is sufficient for a hide.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's satire, which has received several recâs.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Seems someone does not understand sarcasm. Sigh
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Really?
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
