2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum‘Hillary Is the Only Candidate Waging Two Campaigns’
I need to level with you: Right now, Hillary is the only candidate waging two campaigns, which means we need twice as many resources as Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump.
Its notable that the campaign is saying this so directly. But lets be honest, Hillary is actually fighting on three fronts: Bernie, Trump and the media.
Its the story of Hillarys political life: face triple the hurdles and ten times the incoming fire and still thrive.

(36,649 posts)If that were true, then shit like Benghazi & the emails would have been given all the attention they deserved - which is none.

Would you have them use the entire paper to support her? They already gave her everything but the Sports section.

(9,289 posts)NY Daily News? They are a few of the many examples of media outlets that have shown a huge preference for Hillary over Bernie and have been relentlessly unfair to Bernie.
See daily reports about emailgate. That's my point.
Sanders, has, unfortunately, lost. It is what is is.
Still she gets daily, regular, often, shit reporting about a nonissue.
That same nonissue is repeated here daily.
Hopefully Skinner follows through. Burn it down. The site should not represent anti-Democratic ideals.

(9,289 posts)I respect some DU Clinton supporters, but many of the more prolific ones have been horribly dishonest during this primary season, relentlessly distorting the respective records of both candidates.
The email stuff has never interested me much. So far I have seen no evidence of anything that should lead to an indictment, and I seriously doubt that there will be an indictment.

(3,226 posts)That is running for the American people and the issues of thoes who work for a living, instead she is running for herself & her wallstreet friends. By running for long held beliefs Bernie only has one race to run, while Hillary's overriding belief is that she is destined to become the frist woman president and she thinks that is under attack from all sides. Unfortunately Hillary views herself as a victim which causes her to take action out of fear like trying to use a home server for her email instead of the Gov. system. If Hillary would truly run for all working Americans insted of running for herself she would then only have to run one race.

(25,026 posts)fighting Sanders.
Also, bad ideology and politics. Why is she fighting Sanders anyway? She picked a path that guarantees opposition on the left a long time ago and stuck with it to this day. There is too much space to her left and nature abhors a vacuum so if you like a lot of warm, purple almost reddish weak sauce that is the meal it is served with.

(3,937 posts)so it has a something to sell. Mostly the idea that you should donate some money.
The entire Republican party has been fighting Trump. Mitt Romney came from the sidelines to fund attacks on Trump. And with all the ammo available to Trump he leads with Hillary's open marriage ?! That's it? Not TPP or Iraq or Emails or the ancient Blackberry or her flip on DOMA or...
As for Sanders, according the Clinton campaign THIS is the worst and most negative attack in the history of negative campaigning (per Joel Benenson):
Fund raising.

We're supposed to feel sorry for her, yet she started the campaign with advantages that usually only an incumbent enjoys: control of the DNC, control of super delegates, huge advantage in endorsements, universal name recognition, gaming the primary schedule, gaming the debate schedule, the media's presumption of her enevitable nomination, a popular former president campaigning constantly for her, and a huge campaign war chest. Yesterday with all those advantages, she can't close the deal against a little-known, Jewish, elderly, Democratic Socialist senator from one of the smallest states in the Union.
People need to ask how someone could squander such a huge advantage. Misogyny doesn't cut it as an answer. Much of Sanders' base was begging for Elizabeth Warren to enter the race. The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy doesn't work either. It's been vile towards Obama yet he won two terms. No, Hillary's negatives are almost entirely of her own making. I can't feel sorry for her.

(1,235 posts)And every one of those advantages were Bernie disadvantages, which were suppose to have halted his campaign before it even started.
Why is it that 'the American story" has morphed from one of the poor working their way though hard work to a position of success to one of the rich and advantaged narrowly overcoming all attempts by the disadvantaged to gain a bit of equality?
The WWE-ifying of America .... Black-hat Hillary, on the advantageous side of a 10 on 1 handicap match again Babyface Bernie, a match that Hillary can not lose, finds herself, against all odds, in a close fight and in real danger of losing ... until the last minute when DWS Mcahon comes strutting down the walk way, steps into the ring and kicks Bernie square in the nuts allowing Hillary to pin Sanders for the win .... and the crowd goes wild for their favorite black-hat; because that's the new "American Way". Might makes right, and win at any cost.
