2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhen did being a Bernie fan become #BernieOrBust?
I mean, I voted for Bernie in the primary but will vote for Hillary in the general if she wins. Am I the only one who missed the memo that I'm supposed to hate Hillary with the fire of 1000 suns?

(14,255 posts)As always, you should do as you please. No one is telling you to do any damn thing.
We are all expressing how we feel, each one of us. There was no memo. No one is taking names. No one is demanding you hate anyone.
If you don't agree with an OP or a post or a DU member, that's cool - but if you can't handle other people not feeling the same as you do - that's your problem. No one else's problem.

(5,208 posts)It was meant to gain some leverage as Bernie supporters knew that the DNC would rigg the process. i.e. Limiting debates. Bernie agreed not to run 3rd party from the beginning so the DNC never had an incentive to do the right thing. It has nothing to do with Hillary and more to do with the DNC.

(17,045 posts)I don't get it either.
I like Bernie but I certainly don't hate Hillary. If she gets the nom ofcourse I'll vote for her! Primaries on DU can be so taxing.

(11,495 posts)is a Karl Rove tactic, and those who claim to be part of that BS, are not, nor have they ever really been a Democrat, Liberal, or Progressive. The may claim they are, but their actions and words prove otherwise.

(17,865 posts)The Hillary hatred here from the Purity portion on the left is as bad if not worse than most right wingnut members. Indeed, they use right wing sources, that (for any OTHER topic) are considered unreliable and just made up at times, to "prove" arguments against Hillary. It is pathetic.

(22,976 posts)I'm voting for Bernie in the upcoming CA primary to vote my conscience and to send a message, but I have no illusions as to how this process will wind up.
While not my best or first choice, voting for Hillary will be easy, considering: 1) I always vote Democratic; 2) her opponent is Sheldon Adelson-backed, proto-facist Trump.
Doesn't require a second's thought.

(458 posts)What I've seen in polls is about a third of Bernie's supporters say they are "Bernie or Bust", so, it definitely is not all of them...just a significant percentage.
Of course, everyone has their own choice to make regarding things like this, and has the freedom to vote however they please.

(4,012 posts)This has been bubbling since the Battle in Seattle, and took full root in Occupy. Now a politician who is honest, sincere, and national is speaking to some of these issues. We are about these issues, NOT the politician. As someone who was pretty deeply involved in Occupy, I can tell you that this movement is not about Bernie...it's much bigger.
