Clinton widens delegate lead at Nevada Democratic convention
By MICHELLE RINDELS

LAS VEGAS (AP) Hillary Clinton will maintain her comfortable Nevada delegate lead after turning out more supporters to the Nevada State Democratic Caucus than Bernie Sanders did.
Clinton won seven of the 12 delegates up for grabs at the raucous convention on Saturday, while Sanders won five. Party officials say 1,695 Clinton-supporting delegates and 1,662 Sanders-supporting delegates showed up to the event with the proper credentials.
Of the 43 delegates Nevada will send to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July, 20 are now pledged to vote for Clinton and 15 are pledged to vote for Sanders, based on the results of the Feb. 20 caucuses and Saturday's convention.
Eight prominent Nevada Democrats are considered unpledged "superdelegates" who can choose whomever they'd like in Philadelphia, although most who publicly committed have said they'll vote for Clinton.

(1,947 posts)I was originally for Hillary Clinton. Without doubt, then I got shown we do not have to continue down this corporate path of ownership. So like many others you are wrong again, but currently you are right. I will leave president blank, she and DWS earned it. Now I am deciding if I am resigning my committeeperson position locally. I just don't think I can morally continue helping, kind of feels like a bad break up. It's not me , it's you sort of thing.

(1,947 posts)like being wrong on how he will only win his home state. Like being wrong on how he will be gone by super Tuesday. Like being wrong how he would be gone by march 15th. So many times being wrong would be embarrassing to most. Dems will be staying home and the actions in Nevada are just one reason.

To your ultimate dismay, we really don't need anti-Hillary advocates in our party railing against her presidency before it even begins... like republicans did to Obama at the start of his term.

These same dems were running down Obama too and not voting in midterms.

(85,998 posts)...with all you folks say he has going for him, all of that revolutionary support and stuff.
Your candidate couldn't even raise a majority of the folks you claim won't support Hillary. Loser says what?

(5,761 posts)The tide is already turning according to polls and you should be very concerned. She has a huge enthusiasm problem. Only among conservative oriented Dems is she popular, you can't win the WH with only that.

(28,762 posts)lead. She was crammed down our throats by the DNC, and this whole damn primary is a sham for the Republican takeover of the Democratic party.
Enjoy your candidate, but remember we warned you!

(28,762 posts)Something like 59 million people haven't even voted yet, but yea she's only ahead because the DNC put her out with a huge head start!

(11,546 posts)It was politically heartbreaking to see, one person told Llanes on his livestream feed. This is supposed to be about bringing us together We didnt get any voice Nothing There were a chunk of Bernie supporters who would have supported Hillary. Would have. But when you divide the room the way they did
This whole thing is backfiring on the Clinton camp.

(10,476 posts)that they did not win from the actual caucus. You remember the caucus, right? The thing that Hillary actually won?
Last night was course correction, karma, and comeuppance, all rolled into one.
Kittycat
(10,493 posts)You can't force enthusiasm. Caucuses are all about grassroots enthusiasm and who can help build your state wide campaign. If you can't get your delegates to show up, or stay committed to you, that speaks volumes about you as a candidate.
SFnomad
(3,473 posts)We don't need that kind of enthusiasm.
Tarc
(10,476 posts)Whether you get people in a room or to the ballot box, the metric should always be the same;
Count the people on one side.
Count the people on the other side.
The higher number is the winner.
Subverting that clearly shows that you don't know how democracy works.
Kittycat
(10,493 posts)And making up rules, vs following them when motions are on the floor is subverting democracy.

(1,580 posts)Hilliary supporters are crazy, but they don't show enthusuasm. Yah her supporters didn't have enough enthusiam to get a crazy assed credential chair, who admitted on her facebook, to snooker HRC county delegates and giving them wrong info so they did not show up. Oh and Weaver did not tell Rachel Maddow on t.v. mind you tnat Bernie was going to pick up a few pledged delegates here and there from the county and state 2nd tier caucauses. HRC can only win by SD's when she will have probably have enough pledged delegates to win without supers and Bernie will need that whole 500 to win. HEY ARE SD'S GOOD OR BAD? There good when they go for Bernie but bad when the go for Hilliary.
You guys boo Barbara Boxer who is well liked in her state of Calfornia which Bernie has to "clean" up in then wonder why you lose CA by 15 points. Now go ahead and hide this post and you can hide the following information too. I have been posting for weeks about problems in the CA primary which gets hidden or pushed out when you post your anti-Hilliary crap. I am sure your going to blame this on HRC but it's going to be your own damn fault. Apparently there was an uptick in registration for the American Independence party in CA which is not the independent party. Apparently they are registered for the wrong party. Don't believe me go check it out on Npr. These guys registered for the wrong party yet it will be all Hilliary's fault.

(1,580 posts)This is verified on goblindly. In April, when the county caucauses occurred the reddit group advertised for Bernie supporters to bring thier friends to be alternates if HRC delegates didn't show up. I am speculating that these alternates could be the ones who had the trouble. If they went on the fly like that there could have been problems with thier registration?
