Was Bill Clinton a force behind Trump's run?

There have been scattered stories that he suggested to Trump he run for president. If true, it would appear he expected that Hillary - then unopposed - would trounce Trump in the general. This was before Bernie. (B.B.) - If true, He must be sweating bullets about now.

His loss will be so resounding the Republicans may never recover.

and take no pleasure in the fact that if Hillary is selected, and millions of voters who are revolted by both of them stay home, we will have Trump as president. And we will have Hillary and her machine to thank for that.

Take a dive for Hillary, and screw up the republicans at the same time. Devious, underhanded, and totally without principles whatsoever. So corrupt and soulless an idea, it's thrilling.

If true, though, it might be backfiring a little.

Bill recognized he would've never been president without Ross Perot. So Bill and Hill get this long time donor to run in hopes he would go third party and provide the easy split she would need. Like Her miscalculations regarding Iraq, Syria, and Libya they now created something they can't control, or it appears they can't. It's really not a conspiracy when they do it right before your eyes.
