Needless to say, we've only heard one side so far. That's a serious charge for two people to make. Even if mostly true there could be more to it, like back and forth escalating physical contact.

Also needless to say is that if the couple's story stands up it will look very bad for Mr. Pierce. Maybe he was under a lot of other pressure and felt sucker punched by what he was hearing and reacted very badly.

But let's hear his side.

Assuming the couple's story has at least some truth to it, and giving the benefit of the doubt to Mr. Pierce, I think it possible he felt like he was getting played, verbally, and then .... well, then things took a turn for the worse from there.
