The Hillary Clinton/Neocon Merger

The Hillary Clinton/Neocon Merger
By Graham E. Fuller
May 14, 2016

Bottom line is that Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton will no longer have to worry about winning over the Sanders’s Left — some of whom might well stay home on Election Day. The massive support of Republicans, and especially neocons, will bail Hillary out.

Hillary will indeed embrace this Republican support — and will accommodate to it. Indeed her basic political instincts have been all along in that direction anyway — rather than to the left.

And that means we are guaranteed to have a President Hillary Clinton far to the right of Obama — who barely qualifies even as centrist himself.

In short, the essential pressures that Bernie has been exerting to pressure Hillary to the left — so vital to balanced government — are being cancelled out. Bernie’s influence, and all those who revel in the fresh air of his platform, will be drowned out in the new love-fest between Hillary Clinton and the Republicans, whose key neocon figures like Robert Kagan and Charles Krauthammer now enthusiastically and publicly embrace her.

The handwriting on the wall is clear: the advisers, counselors, so-called brain trusts and special aides around her (some of whom even infiltrated into Obama’s ranks) — those who remain blindly impervious in their serial defeats in foreign policy — they will all be back in full force to offer us same-old-same-old losing foreign policies dating back to George W. Bush.

I am from one of her home-states...we are one of the worst in union rights, education, racism, etc...but hey she was not the governor, just the the wife so not sure if that counts against her since they like to claim her 1st lady experience but only when it is convenient. They could use her time on the Walmart board if they wanted to show her experience. But hey if you want to ignore all of the studies that showed Hillary basically voted the way her donors to the Clinton foundation or her liked then she is a great liberal.

Any pre-schooler knows how to read that sign.

When supporters came out early to promote her waving that banner so proudly, it was the ultimate jaw-dropping-facepalm moment.

Took awhile for someone to color it blue, but it still points to the Right.

No pretense there.

Yet, she insists on identifying as "progressive".

Hillary has been a neoconservative for her entire political career. Much like the neoconservative Daniel Patrick Moynihan -- who she replaced in the Senate -- this has allowed her to work very closely with republican administrations.

While almost all of the republican neoconservatives in DC support Clinton, and are strongly opposed to Trump, they have been attempting to force Newt Gingrich on the ticket with Trump, to cover all of their bases.

He dropped the ball on this article by making statement he could not back up. I read the article closely. He writes well, but is missing any factual information in this article.

One example, with a name, would have satisfied me. No such example was given.

How dare I? I dare because I can read and reason. I've never been a professional political or news writer. I'm not in competition with Robert Parry in any way. I'm just a DUer when it comes to politics.

Who am I? I'm MineralMan. I call them as I see them.

He is a most valid left wing source. He dug deeply into the Iran-Contra sewer. He is a genuine good guy. He does actual investigative reporting, instead of regurgitating government and corporate talking points.

The fact you don't like what he prints and trot out the completely overused "Putin lover" canard tells me all I need to know.
