He sucks with teleprompters. It will be horrible.
It also would signal that while he supports the nominee he isn't really too gung ho about it.

(10,597 posts)... it just wrapped up, as a matter of fact. What was wrong with his speech in your eyes?

(458 posts)That would be devastating if he declined to give a speech, not sure he would want to go that far!

Bernie will do just fine.

(135,425 posts)the GOP. He will get a huge cheer for that line.
He will be focused and enthusiastic and his supporters (the real ones, not the Trumpers and Paulbots and other disruptors 'faking' an enthusiasm for him to shit-stir) will take his cue and help elect Hillary.

(12,081 posts)He should speak at the convention and demand the Democratic platform be changed to secure our democratic elections and to help average Americans , not Corporate CEOs. He needs to be a continual thorn in their side for as long as it takes.

(9,086 posts)If he reads off a teleprompter I think it's going to come across as really unnatural.
Plus even though he is going to endorse the nominee, does it really have to be a big speech? Can't it just be a press release? And then he can focus his main energy on building a organization to carry on the "revolution".

(1,674 posts)Nationwide. If the DNC wants to commit suicide, its not his fault. Be that thorn Bernie, alongside Warren, shake the tree

(1,674 posts)we know their differences, valid ones, but he will not let Trump win. I am in a blue state so I dont have to swallow the bile and vote for her. I will vote down ticket only.
Bernie does not need a teleprompter. The DNC cannot improve on his words. I hope he validates the movement and calls for the revolution to continue

(9,086 posts)I think he should skip speaking to send a message. We're going to vote to keep Trump out but we don't support the platform of the Democrats. It's a very regressive, conservative, platform in some ways. Bernie has had such a great career as an independent. I just hate the thought of him channeling the whole movement into the Democratic Party. I think he should build some progressive democratic socialist organization outside. He should do what he promised and endorse Hillary Clinton. He should attend the convention, he has delegates there, and complete his responsibilities. But then he should be clear that while he is voting for Clinton it's only a lesser of two evils.

(1,674 posts)He never expected to win this. He set out to raise a movement and succeeded. Hail to the chief in the only war I am willing to support. It would be moving if his delegates sang the Sound of Silence, since it is the DNC that subscribes to silence of the masses, but no one is that brave.

(23,272 posts)They're notoriously, viciously vindictive. Bernie knows the handwriting on the wall.
I bet his seniority and committee chairmanships are stripped within days of the convention ending for daring to challenge her coronation and actually being too damn effective.
He has nothing to lose by going out with a bang. Can't be . bought off with a lucrative big Pharma lobbying gig (cough*Howard Dean)
larkrake
(1,674 posts)and he has done nothing wrong. The DNC has only 3 rd wayers in the Senate. Bernie will be fine
riderinthestorm
(23,272 posts)He will be punished.
Count on it.
The trial balloons are already floating here and elsewhere @ how Team Clinton is salivating at the prospect of destroying him.

(11,546 posts)otherwise it would be.... weird.
LOL!! You know I'm teasing. Yeah, I doubt he would do that. Most of us would REALLY want to hear what he says if he doesn't win the nomination.
