>"Greetings, my beloved friends! I have a special treat for you, today and it has to do with the real numbers of the Oregon Primary that took place on Tuesday, the 17th.<
>"Behold! I have discovered the true numbers and no one is reporting them! Googles primary results and the Guardians primary tracker (both of which receive their numbers from the Associated Press) both show that Bernie Sanders has won 320,746, out of 572,485 total votes. Both of them also show that Sanders, so far, has 56.0% of the vote. The Guardian says 95.5% of the vote is in and Google has rounded that up to 96%. I am writing you today to tell you that they are both full of um, well lets just say that theyre lying!
According to the Guardian, all counties have 100% of precincts reporting, except for Multnomah County (which has the largest population), which they report with only 77.7% of precincts reporting but remember:
We dont have precincts."<

(1,446 posts)Part of living in a democracy is that we can each express our own opinions. Do you really want to live in a society where everything thinks the same way? Even those who get paid to express the opinions of others have that right.
Do you also realize that no one on DU is going to change their minds? And if they were, it would be far more likely if you stick to the facts about why you like your candidate and leave out the snarky remarks intended to belittle anyone who has a different opinion.

(1,446 posts)I can't imagine any sane person would pay someone to try and sway opinions here...as I said, those here are a determined lot. But, in our society, it is legal to do just that, if you have the money and the desire. But in other venues, I think that it is a good idea for a campaign to spend money to set the record straight in places where the truth is being discarded.

(80,708 posts)Like correct it, huh?
Edited to add: of course it's legal and people have the right to do it. But commenting on the behavior is not censoring it.
It's also legal for people to notice what is going on.

(6,007 posts)Can't you just put it in plain English. . . .
99% votes counted
74% for Bernie
26% for Hillary . . .or whatever it is.
You didn't put that, and I didn't see it in that "article" either. Just hype. No offense.
