(146,317 posts)Just over two weeks now. There is the DC primary, though, a week later. I don't think the new rules here will be implemented until after that date, based on what Skinner has said. "After all the votes are in..." I think it goes.
Still, on June 8, in the AM sometime, we'll have a clear picture of how many more delegates over the majority of pledged delegates Hillary ends up with. Based on her current peformance, it should be about 8% more than she needs. She's consistently been 108% of her target goals, primary after primary, and Bernie has consistently been at about 92% of his targets, cumulatively.
On June 8, we'll know for sure who the nominee will be.
As I said: Hasten the day!

Don't know in what forms, but there is a substantial segment of Democrats and others who are alienated by the Clinton/DLC/Corporate/Wall St. Axis and will not accept it lying down.
The energy behind the sanders campaign (and ariounbd 40 percent of the vote) is just one sign of that.
Get used to it.

(3,473 posts)bitter BoB'ers (an honestly small, fringe group) and Republicans that have been trying to cause dissention around here. Neither group will be missed.
The rest of us will be working to get Secretary Clinton elected President and to take back the Senate. I fear the House is still a lost cause, but with tRump at the top of the Republican ticket, we should be able to at least cut their advantage.
You can either be a part of the solution or be a part of the problem ... that's really your choice.

(3,473 posts)wanted it, doesn't mean the Democratic party isn't the solution. It just means it is not your solution. In the general election, we have a choice between Democrat and Republican ... if you can't see the difference between the two candidates and determine which would be the better one, that's really your problem and I would feel sorry for you, that you let your partisan ways get in the way of reality.

(12,081 posts)Those of us who struggle every day to put food on the table will go on fighting way past the primary, past the GE, for months, years, even decades if we have to. This fight is far, far, far from over. But yes after the primary they will get their echo chamber back and they can sigh a sigh of relief.

(3,473 posts)How many times have you accused me (and other Secretary Clinton supporters) of being Trump supporters now? Sounds like the last desperate cries of an unhinged BS cheerleader that realizes his ship is sinking.

All Trump does is smear and that's all we get from the H camp these days.
PS: just looked at your transparency page. Have you no shame?

(8,758 posts)This is a reprint of a comment I made on Friday. My numbers came from Wikipedia Friday afternoon.
4051 -- total pledged delegates for 2016
2026 -- half of the pledged delegates (2025.5 is half, so I rounded up to 2026)
1771 -- Hillary's current PD count
1499 -- Bernie' current PD count
272 -- H v D difference. Hillary leads. (1771 - 1499)
255 -- Hillary's remaining PDs needed to reach 2026 (2026 - 1771)
527 -- Bernie's remaining PDs needed to reach 2026 (2026 - 1499)
781 -- remaining pledged delegates.
Now we can calculate what percentage of what Hillary and Bernie need to win the pledged delegate count.
Hillary: (255/781)*100 = 32.65%
Bernie: (527/781)*100 = 67.48%

(1,446 posts)we can just keep counting. He clearly doesn't care about any of the principles he espouses, his priority is himself.
After June 7, he will try to convince his follower to keep donating money, because he is bound to turn around the super delegates...you know, the ones that he has been so friendly with throughout this contest. Should totally work.

(8,758 posts)Cali has 475 pledged delegates up for grabs. To reach 2026 pledged delegates (half of 4051 rounded up), Hillary needs 255 pledged delegates. (2026 - 1771 = 255, numbers from Wikipedia just now.) Which is 54% of California's pledged delegates. However, there are 781 total pledged delegates remaining so Sanders can possibly blow Hillary out in California and still lose. Montana, South Dakota, New Mexico, New Jersey, Wash. DC, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands still have contests remaining.
The odds of Hillary picking up 255 pledged delegates from all those contests are pretty good.
Note: I'm talking about pledged delegates, not supers nor the sum of supers and pledged. I'm pointing out how close Hillary is capturing a simple majority of pledged delegates. Bernie's camp knows this which is why they've suddenly become friendly to the super delegates as an option.

2 plus more weeks of purist blackmail threats and tinfoil conspiracy theories.
2 plus more weeks for the assault on the democratic party by independents, greens and undercover republicans.
The only way I get through all this BS is Hillary blowouts in PR and NJ and a good solid win in California.

(45,851 posts)Let's face it, when the conflict slows down the clicks will slow down. I wasted eight stupid years hating on Dubya, if it's between HRH and the Short Fingered Vulgar Talking Yam I have more productive things to do with my time than follow the level of intricately plotted kabuki theater that's sure to ensue.
I think Skinner ended up regretting the amnesty despite the fact it made him money, so many of the posters on time outs returned and doubled down on what gave them time outs in the first place. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.
