2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDU is a diverse group of people, not just Sanders supporters on one side and Hillary on the other
In an attempt to bring just a tiny bit of civility I am creating this poll to show at one time or another many of us who are at odds now were probably rooting for the same candidate in the past. Hopefully no one will hijack this and try to divide us but rejoice in the fact that we do have a lot in common regardless of being in different camps this time around. And in the future we may be on the same side with a candidate even though we are not now and at odds with people we are in the same camp with today. Lets keep that in mind.
Sorry the poll is incomplete but I am only given 10 slots and so I have to place the top five I saw posted from the last election. I am including Kucinich over Dodd because I remember him being more popular here on DU than Dodd was.
If your candidate is not listed feel free to list them in the comment section.

(25,586 posts)I prefer Hillary but I would have happily cast my vote for Sanders or O'Malley had things gone differently.

(885 posts)Voted Bush out of high school. Then voted for Obama.
Voted for Sanders in the primary, but will vote Dem either way.

(6,568 posts)My wife supported him last time, while I was pro Kucinich. When both of them had dropped, we decided we were just gonna vote for the nominee (we had already voted when they had dropped out).

(7,473 posts)I ended up that way but supported Hillary first. I switched.

(25,586 posts)I'll never understand the level of bitterness some people have when they find they've backed the less-popular candidate. My choice loses the primary most every time -- big fuckin deal. Move on and support the sane choice.

He went home by train as a senator.
That's cool.

(33,224 posts)2008? Kucinich... until he dropped out, then Edwards... until he dropped out, then Clinton... until she dropped out.
McCain/Palin? Oh hell no.
Obama has done somewhat better than I expected.
