Background:
The Times-Dispatch so bad of a rightwing rag that they can't get on Fox News.
Bill's BBQ was like a bus depot cafeteria. It's business went down because people who knew how to make barbecue opened ...like... Buzz & Ned's which is delicious.
Romney later stopped by the 82-year-old Richmond institution known well for its pork, limeades and chocolate pie which closed in September after years of decline.
"Bill's Barbecue couldn't take four years under President Obama," the ad says in closing. "Can we afford four more?"
Typically in a poor economy, people eat at less expensive restaurants, but during the recession, they seemed to go a step below Bill's, she (the owner of Bill's and Republican supporter) told Romney.
....
The owner of Buz and Ned's Real Barbecue, which competed with Bill's outlets on both sides of its Boulevard location, said in an interview Thursday that his restaurant thrived at the height of the recession because of assistance from the federal government. Buz Grossberg said his firm opened a second location in Henrico County with a $1.3 million loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The new branch would "not be possible without the contribution of our federal government," said Grossberg, who has helped organize fundraising events for U.S. Senate candidate Timothy M. Kaine over the Democrat's 11-year career in statewide politics.
"It was an even better deal than normal," Grossberg said of the loan.
The 20-year note carries an annual interest rate of 3.5 percent, and the SBA saved him about $40,000 in closing costs, Grossberg said Thursday.

(182,879 posts)literally right down the street from the "adult book store". Buzz and Ned make really really good barbecue AND they put a billboard on their own lot - visible from the interstate nearby.
Bill's was right down the street but had been there for a while.
Buzz and Ned know what they are doing and Bill's was not very good to start with but then the "kids" took over and it went downhill from there.

(11,491 posts)Get bad when the kids took over, it started to go under so bad the parents took it back and hired people to help them since they were older. I have heard its slowly getting back on its feet.
