Related: About this forumVideo suggests Barbara Boxer really wasn't afraid of Sanders supporters
Sanders has faced pressure from fellow Democrats who have sharply criticized his supporters actions, but there is something to be said about being an agent provocateur, a role which Lange and Boxer played expertly. In Nevada, there is a law against purposefully provoking people to violence.
NRS?203.030??Provoking commission of breach of peace.??Every person who shall by word, sign or gesture willfully provoke, or attempt to provoke, another person to commit a breach of the peace shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. [Part 1911 C&P § 150; RL § 6415; NCL § 10097]
In essence, it is a fighting words law, that provides protection to people who are intentionally provoked to anger or violence by a person or persons who are doing their best to get that type of reaction.
It is worth noting the nepotism and favoritism that seems to be running through the Democratic Party, especially in the case of Barbara Boxer. In 1994, Boxers daughter, Nicole, married Hillary Clintons brother, Tony Rodham. The couple divorced in 2000. Their son is Boxers grandson and Clintons nephew.
With her retirement announced she has said she will not seek re-election after her term is up she is not risking an election by making it easier for Clinton to get the nomination. As Boxer walked out of the room jauntily and surrounded by police and aides, her actions of blowing kisses sarcastically and then flipping off Sanders supporters proves that she did not fear for her safety. She was laughing and mocking them.

(8,541 posts)Looking at the video. It just seems like Boxer was egging them on. There's also the fact that she was probably pissed about being booed but she should have took the high ground.
The fact that Barbara lied about being scared is what gets me. She was surrounded by armed cops. The pressure the surrogates are under must be intense. For real!

We can determine this because we know how reasonable, sane people behave. Juries determine this kind of thing all the time.

If they don't play this video, it would seem they have something to hide and are liars working for Hillary.

(3,316 posts)people act differently in situations like that; you might cower behind the nearest potted plant but she didn't
merrily
(45,251 posts)She was surrounded by security at all times. She said it herself, though she did not mean to give it away. "If I didn't have so much security, I don't know what might have happened." That is her admission that she knew she was never in danger. No one even so much as approached or threw a spitball. And she never would have made it in politics this long without hearing a booing crowd.
I was told that when someone show me who they are, I should believe them. You've shown us who you are and I believe you. Therefore, I don't expect you to say that she unintentionally verbally gave away that she was never frightened or to say that no terrified person would have behaved as she behaved in those videos.

(5,562 posts)then, if they have half a brain they don't go around saucily provoking the ones they say they are afraid of. I don't think Mrs Boxer is a stupid woman therefore her actions suggest to me that she was NOT afraid for her safety.

(5,562 posts)A sensible person would walk past someone they perceived as bullies in a calm, non-threatening manner, with their head held high. What someone who is scared normally does not do is prance past the so-called "bullies" taunting them like a fool, blowing kisses and flipping the bird.
She wasn't scared in the least, she was put out because they didn't appreciate her arrogance.

(45,251 posts)That would have been the Hillary surrogates and supporters. Given the crap they said, I sure was glad to see videos.
Have you seen the video of the chair being thrown? Neither did I.
How about the one with Boxer cowering in terror? Neither did I. Just ones where she's surrounded by security and acting like an clown.
How about the one where people walked toward her? Neither did I.
Well, at least, how about the one where people threw all those spitballs at her? Neither did I.
The worse thing that happened was someone lifted a chair straight up in the air for about two seconds, then hugged the person who removed it from his hands.
The corporate media should never be trusted again.
They have no credibility.
