2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat if Ricky Scott's vote suppression tactics backfire?
Looking at the lines shown to early vote in fl, i couldn't help but wonder- if the repubbies all all old they won't be able to stand, or even sit in w/chairs for 3-4 hours to vote. I would think they would stay away, or leave without voting b-4 a young Latino. Thoughts??
Still.....a sad commentary either way.

(12,287 posts)Rathe occupy the poll. Young voters should let older ones that may not be able to stand so long go ahead of them and just not leave.
Have never seen the Republican Party so shameful as they are today. Beat them people!!!!! Vote

(14,177 posts)I don't think they have as much of the senior vote as they think they have anyway. I think it's a zero sum game. But, who knows maybe I am giving the senior population in Fla. too much credit.

(200 posts)Why is Florida so fucked up each year? Is it the Republicans in charge? Or is the governance of the state just stupid?? I'm not being facetious, what gives?????

(335 posts)Unfortunately, I live in a 60% Repub area, but I think it's the same deal in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale where a lot of Dem. seniors vote.

(28,158 posts)In Harris county they've often provided too few voting machines in Dem precincts.
We actually have quite a few precincts which are Democrat dominated in Texas. In those we have to fight to keep our rights from being violated. Which is why both Dallas and Harris counties have had poll watchers dispatched to them from the Justice Dept. this year.

(44,974 posts)It's not even close to what's going on in FL. Of course they aren't worried in TX that Obama will win the state.
