Bernie's better poll performance RUINS excuse for DLC/New Dem/Third Way existence

The stated reason a sizable chunk of Democratic politicians "had" to adopt conservative economic, foreign policy, budget priorities, giveaways of the commons through privatization, and essentially making government subservient to corporate interest because Reaganomics was just SO popular with voters.

Now that Bernie Sanders is beating Donald Trump in the polls by far more than Hillary is, shouldn't the DLC/New Dem/Third Way either shut down OR admit that serving corporate and Wall Street interests is more important to them than winning elections or passing progressive policies?

after the fact bribes of jobs as lobbyists, lawyers, do nothing board members, and/or donations to foundations and presidential libraries.

The back end deal is why DLC pols don't mind losing--once they leave office they make A LOT more money.

his economic "revolution" (i.e., neoliberalism plus bubbles) made Schroeder, Blair, Chretien, Mitterrand pick it up too: it'd been a thundering failure under de la Madrid, Salinas, and Deng (until US jobs poured in) and Yeltsin

so this exhausted Reaganaut nonsense, last spotted in the likes of Tsongas and George Gilder's ravings, was seen as the cureall after the 1994 defeat of even Ann Richards

The DLC/Thrid Way people in the Democratic party have run away from liberal ideals. Its a damn shame because America is a pretty liberal country.

It was liberalism that revolted against the crown. It was liberalism that wrote the Constitution. It was liberalism that ended slavery. It was liberalism that gave women the right to vote. It was liberalism that passed the New Deal. It was liberalism that passed the Civil Rights Act.

All the great steps America has taken, they've been taken by liberals. Running away form liberalism is a grievous mistake.
