(1,150 posts)And they'd be distressingly wrong.
Do supporters of Hillary Clinton like driving off the votes of Bernie Sanders supporters?
I've read a great deal about how Bernie Sanders is only serving the interests of Donald Trump.
But, what about this sort of mockery? How does this help Clinton?

(1,595 posts)Sanders burned the bridges. DNC is about to tell him to take a seat. Watch and see.

(1,150 posts)There were no bridges for Bernie Sanders to burn. How much influence within the Democratic party did he begin his candidacy with?
I would assert that at least 40% of his Democratic supporters will not support Hillary Clinton without very substantial respect demonstrated for the support that he has built.
If people like you mockingly dismiss Sanders's candidacy, you do the same to his supporters. With those supporters, he came extremely close to defeating a sophisticated Democratic party machine that has been building a Clinton presidency for years, and he did this while under a media blackout.
But if you cannot comprehend the implications of that now, it seems unlikely that such an understanding will develop later.

(1,595 posts)He was DONE in March.

(1,150 posts)If you say so. Sen. Sanders has 85% of the pledged delegates that Sec. Clinton does, as of today.
The only Democratic primary contest since 1972 that was that close was in... 2008.
So it has been the second closest Democratic primary in 44 years.
And it will be even closer after the state of Washington votes tonight.
Sec. Clinton, should she become the Democratic nominee, will be the first one since 1984 who did not secure the nomination through pledged delegates alone.
But, really, none of that matters much, with respect to what you said. All that really matters is how something you said, aggressively asserting that Sen. Sanders's campaign is sort of non-relevant, plays with Democratic supporters of Sen. Sanders.
If you are satisfied that Donald Trump is also 'DONE,' with Sec. Clinton's general election victory assured without a very significant number of votes from Sen. Sanders's Democratic supporters, then I guess you can just about say anything you want to alienate them.
However, making assertions with words spelled in capital letters for extra emphasis does not increase the value of your vote or diminish the value of anyone else's.
