2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumShould Bill get off the campaign trail and let Hillary run by herself?
I have no doubt that Trump will continue the sexual bullshit so long as he is on the trail. Perhaps Hillary should remind him that she is the one running for the Presidency and people that live in glass houses, like Donald Trump, should be careful about throwing stones. The American people deserve more from any person running for the highest office in the land.

(10,476 posts)No one but an amateur (which is why I'm glad Devine & Weaver will soon be out of the picture, what a sorry-assed campaign they ran for Sanders) makes panicky decisions based on perceived criticism by the opponent. This is Alinsky 101 here.

(45,105 posts)the sexual bullshit to go after her. Anyone who has ever thought this wouldn't be a big part of this election and that the media and pukes won't use it is crazy.
I'm not going to waste my time defending them from things in their past that will be brought up, over and over. Welcome to 2016, where a whole new generation is getting ready to have a rehash of the Clinton years forced upon them 24/7, and I'm not talking about the good parts of Bills presidency. I'm talking about the sleaze being pushed from back then.

(1,595 posts)It has been proven Bill is an asset. He really does help a lot. Al Gore distenced himself from Bill and he lost. Had he used Bill as a surrogate, it would not have been close enough for republicans to cheat.

(15,805 posts)He's on the campaign trail speaking on her behalf, and if he left, her effectiveness and outreach to voters would be instantly cut in half. Here's the thing, Democrats love Bill Clinton and they've heard everything the GOP has thrown at him for decades so it's just meaningless background noise. Republicans, of course, eat that shit up, and Sanders people are giddy at the prospect of weakening Hillary.

And every time the GOP has attacked him, they've had their ass handed to them.
Same will hold true in the General.
People LOVE the imperfect hero.

But he has seemed off this year. If he gets his mojo back, he would be a powerful asset.
