Jerry Brown seconded his own nomination in 1992

At least I'm virtually certain I remember that (I was a 16-year-old still-pissed-off Tsongas supporter). He also didn't get a speaking spot because of that (though he was allowed some remarks when he seconded).

So, I guess the point here is that:

1. People have carried their campaign to the convention in "recent" years (for some value of "recent&quot

2. It didn't destroy the party

3. But, it also sidelined the person who did it somewhat
