The notorious Romanian hacker known as Guccifer has pleaded guilty in federal court to two hacking-related charges, according to prosecutors.
Guccifer, whose name is Marcel Lehel Lazar, 44, allegedly hacked into emails and social media accounts and released the personal information of numerous high-profile victims.
His alleged victims include former Secretary of State Colin Powell and family members of former President George W. Bush.
In a federal courtroom in Alexandria, Virginia, today, prosecutors said Guccifer hacked into the computers and social media accounts of about 100 Americans.

(30,058 posts)1. The guy probably thinks he will get a book deal or some other scheme.
In a federal courtroom in Alexandria, Virginia, today, prosecutors said Guccifer hacked into the computers and social media accounts of about 100 Americans.
He ultimately pleaded guilty today to one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer and one count of aggravated identity theft. He could face up to seven years in prison, and he will be sentenced in September.

What I want to know is how many counts were in the original charges? Two counts for hacking about 100 Americans seems pretty lenient. The ABC report does not tell us how many counts were originally filed. If there were a lot of charges filed (reasonable to believe with 100 victims) one would ask what information is he providing that got this reduced to just 2 counts? I want to hear the rest of the story.

If so, that establishes proof that HRC allowed classified information vulnerable to foreign entities.

Anything to plug the narrative, I guess. Can't be worse than the usual sources around here.

And in equal justice under the law.
How about you?
