Three professional influence peddlers, including a registered corporate lobbyist, have been chosen by Hillary Clinton and Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., to serve on the committee responsible for drafting the partys platform.

Wendy Sherman and Carol Browner, two of the representatives chosen by Clinton, work at the Albright Stonebridge Group, a government affairs firm that was created in 2009 through a merger with Madeleine Albrights consulting company and Stonebridge International, a defense contractor lobbying shop.
The website for the company touts its ability to win favors and influence with government officials throughout the world on behalf of corporate clients, from shaping regulatory standards in the U.S. for a European automotive business to engaging with the highest levels of the Saudi government. H.P. Goldfield, vice president at the firm, is a registered lobbyist for the Saudi Arabian government.
The Albright Stonebridge Group did not respond to a request to provide a client list. But recent reports reveal that the firm has been tapped in recent months to work for Elliott Management, the hedge fund run by billionaire Paul Singer, one of the most prolific donors to Republican Super PACs.

(7,299 posts)representatives. Those representatives use that authority to make decision given to power vested in them by the voters. Sanders has appointed those that he believes in. Hillary did the same. You didn't vote for her but wish to dictate to her. That's not democracy.

The Approach
ASGs Europe team developed a strategy to strengthen relationships between the client and pharmaceutical industry stakeholders. We also worked to position the client as an industry leader prepared and willing to make its voice heard, both on its own and on behalf of the industry, on vital regulatory issues.
The Result
Our client received timely drug approvals, while securing pricing necessary for product economic viability, and a commitment from the government to triple its pharmaceuticals budget for certain classes of drugs in recognition of the benefits offered. These outcomes, both benefiting the client, also brought value to the country through access to a range of new life-saving medicines for its citizens. Over time, ASGs support was expanded to effectively address similar issues in other markets, including Brazil, China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Venezuela.
The Challenge
A leading retailer sought to enter the Chinese market through acquisition. Despite the company's financial strength and strong reputation, the transaction was threatened by local opposition.
Our Approach
Our China team developed a plan to secure government approval of the transaction, with an activity plan that culminated with the scheduled visit by a U.S. Cabinet Secretary. The core of our plan hinged on identifying and then engaging Chinese stakeholders who supported the acquisition. We maintained close contact with various officials and agencies involved in the government's consideration of the transaction to monitor the approval process and immediately address challenges as they arose. The client company also leveraged U.S. government support to engage and advocate to their Chinese counterparts in support of the investment.
The Result
Our client received approval of the acquisition in record time. The transaction was announced at a public event with senior U.S. and Chinese government officials, providing the company with significant positive publicity during its China market debut.
Don't know who the Cabinet secretary was...but using officials to steamroll local opposition to a "major retailer"?
