Social media campaign asks whether you are "man enough" to vote for Hillary

Translation: Vote for war and greed or else you're not masculine enough to satisfy this socially constructed gender role.

I simply can NOT imagine Bernie Sanders running an ad like this questioning people's gender or prodding people to be more macho by voting a certain way.

BONUS: Same model is also the face of Portland's syphilis warnings.

Supporters are encouraged to hold house parties and volunteer for Clinton, but will also receive a “Thx Box” - a campaign version of BirchBox, the home delivery subscription where women get carefully curated beauty products sent to them once a month. In this case, though, supporters will get household products that Clinton likes and uses (as well as campaign merchandise of course). People who order a Thx Box will even get a bitmoji of a pink pantsuit.

It's not an "ad campaign" at all. It's some twitter hashtag created by some individual. You're trying to imply that it's some sort of Clinton campaign ad. That's simply not true. Anyone can post any damn thing on Twitter. That does not make it part of the Clinton campaign.

I find this to be an ugly sort of slam on your part. I'm not sure how you found this, but it's obviously not from the Clinton campaign. They aren't using any ads even similar to this. It's an individual effort by someone.

There are no links to this image other than those related to an almost empty Twitter hashtag. In my opinion, you should self-delete this. You will do as you please, I'm sure, but that's my suggestion.

120. Never model for clipart
Thu May 26, 2016, 03:07 PM

I work with a woman who was paid something like $500 in 1998 to model in a bunch of office and urban scenarios and those images have been used in everything from sexual harassment and suicide prevention pamphlets to advertising for backpacks and Mississippi tourism (the picture in question was taken in Huntington Beach) and office products like ergonomic keyboard accessories.

The pictures of her with a giant Motorola cell phone and using an ancient Apple PowerBook have fallen out of use, but everything else pops up regularly.

Her mother had a cork board in her kitchen with everything she has ever found using one of the images.

$500 and "it's not porn" as well as professional hair and makeup sounded pretty good to 19 year-old her, but now she just cringes every time she sees one of the images.
