More Great Lakes States Middle Income Voters Would Pick Hillary Clinton Over Donald Trump Today
CLEVELAND, Ohio More middle class voters in Ohio and three other Great Lakes states would vote for Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton over her GOP counterpart Donald Trump if the election were held today, a Bloomberg Politics poll released Thursday shows.
About 46 percent of voters in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin voters would back Clinton if the election happened today, the Bloomberg Politics Purple Slice Poll found. About 39 percent said they would vote for Trump.
These voters also like Clinton more than Trump, and find her more presidential than the billionaire. And regardless whom these voters support, more believe Clinton will become the next president of the United States than Trump, Bloomberg reports.
But to set the tone for the election: Nearly 31 percent of voters said they feel afraid about this presidential campaign. Most believe the country is seriously off track, and that the government needs to change major way. And more believe Trump would shake up the way Washington does business, with new ideas.
About 60 percent a majority believe what a candidate has said or done in the past matters, according to the Bloomberg poll. That could pose problems for both Clinton and Trump. Both candidates have past controversies that could come to haunt them in voting booths next November.
