Nuclear Fearmongering

So a meme I'm seeing a lot on the Internets these days is that Bernie needs to quit, because he is harming HRC's campaign, and we must support her at all costs because, oh my God, we don't want Trump with his finger on the nuclear trigger!

This sure reminds me of Condi's quote, "But we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud."

Those of you who are repeating this meme are using a trick straight out of the Republican/Conservative's playbook, right up there with invoking 9/11. Which HRC also did. Oh nevermind.

Even the Ferengi know that.

Hyperbole and exaggeration may be effective recruiting tools, but they are still another form of dishonesty.

Seems like an odd cause to champion here.

Forgive those of us who do find that disquieting.

You get 16 more days to talk about why Trump isn't as bad as people say.

7. It scares the hell out of me

But to be perfectly honest, Hillary controlling it scares me a little too. I used to think her hawkishness was just a public show to overcompensate for being a woman, but I read something recently that made me think she really believes it, and that scares me.

and posts like this where you basically say Trump is less scary than Hillary and are promoting the GOP candidate will not be allowed...and that day can not come soon enough for me. I found your post disgusting...to promote a Republican? Awful.

13. How exactly does my post "promote Trump"?

Cite for me where I said that Trump would be less scary than Hillary. I did not say that and I do not feel that way. The thought of Trump controlling the nuclear arsenal scares the hell out of me, but I am not completely comfortable with Hillary controlling it either. To be perfectly honest, I am not comfortable with having such a huge nuclear arsenal regardless of who controls it. But since it's probably not going anywhere anytime soon, I am most comfortable having it controlled by someone like our current president, who is known for being cautious and avoiding any rush to use force. While I certainly don't think Hillary is itching to drop a nuclear bomb on anyone, it concerns me that as SOS, she did not show the same caution about military engagements as the president did. So I am not entirely comfortable with her being commander in chief.

That said, I certainly would rather have her in charge than Trump, and I don't know what I said that could have possibly made you think otherwise. If you look at all my posts here over the last several months, I think you will see that I have been pretty fair in the things I have said about Hillary, and have on many occasions defended her against attacks from other Bernie supporters.

I think Hillary is smart, tough, capable, and would bring a lot to the table as president. But her hawkishness and lack of caution in the realm of military and foreign policy concern me.

But of course, you don't think so because somehow...you see the idea that Trump is dangerous as blocking Bernie...where the truth is Bernie just plain lost...he lost.

11. Allow me to clarify...

I didn't think it was necessary to discuss how horrible Trump is at DU. That, at least, is one thing we pretty much all agree upon I figured. Preaching to the choir, ya know. But since you folks insist: yes, a Trump presidency would further thrash our country's economy and society in general. The world would finally accept what a bunch of morans we are, the banksters and uber-wealthy would continue to thrive at our expense, and in general there would be more pain, suffering, and chaos in the world.

Clear enough? He sucks, in a big-time, yellow-skinned, short-fingered, greedy narcissistic way.

I don't need to discuss your candidate's faults at this point in time, as I was hoping to discuss the issue of fear mongering. Why do you folks like to bring Bernie into this, and gloat repetitively about him losing?

Ok, so how about you folks stop supporting the Republican tactics which we all know and despise?
