No, Bernie Sanders Didn't Enter a Rally to a Homophobic DMX Song
By Daniel Politi - MAY 28 2016 3:57 PM
In what may be one of the most confusing episodes featuring an allegedly doctored video from this already very weird nominating contest, the Bernie Sanders campaign is staunchly denying that the senator entered a rally to an extremely homophobic DMX song in California earlier this week. The reports began on Thursday, when a video popped up on YouTube and Twitter that appeared to show Sanders entering a rally in California to DMXs Where the Hood At?
~Snip~
Except none of it actually happened, according to the Sanders campaign. Never thought I'd have to say this, but no @BernieSanders did not walk out to a #DMX song in Lancaster earlier this week, Sanders press secretary wrote on Twitter.

Warren Gill, another Sanders spokesperson, also denied the song was used. Someone ripped the music from this video and placed it over Sanders entrance, Gill told the Washington Blade.
Other videos from that rally also dont seem to have any DMX music playing. And the campaign provided its own clip to prove its point.

(10,164 posts)I might just make yet another one refuting this particular slander, though. This one annoys me more than most, for some reason. I'd hate to think of anyone actually being fooled by it.

(10,721 posts)There are 7 threads on this topic, 5 of which are refuting the bogus tale. I'm simply commenting on this DU habit of repeat threads.
Folks keep referring to "they" in regards to this story, but does anyone actually know how this story originated?

(10,721 posts)And I've found the search function to be lacking. I wouldn't even know how to search for something like that, but I can assure you it's something I've brought up before. I can recall having a conversation with someone back when I first started posting here about how DU needs moderators who limit repeat posts and I suggested having GDP broken up into more pages/categories.
Anyway, I would like to think most of us can agree that repeat posts, no matter the topic/subject/target, are a problem here at DU. I don't care if it's a poll showing Clinton ahead in some state or a poll about a Sanders rally. I don't give a rip what the topic is, I just think repeat posts are obnoxious.
Also, keep in mind that I'm not a big fan of Clinton or Sanders.

(10,721 posts)"We chose the number." Yeah right. Occam's Razor says the reason for the repeat threads is that people don't pay attention to what's already been posted.
This isn't about content (again, I don't give a rip if it's pro-Sanders or pro-Clinton); it's about carelessness and clutter.

(1,166 posts)reminds one that Hillary Clinton's credibility is taking a very public nose dive right now. Everyone is so used to the majority of U.S. elected representatives having skeletons in their closet that some find it impossible to get through their heads that Bernie Sanders doesn't. Again, the ridiculous nature of the Sanders "scandals" that have been posted about on here only prove that reality.

(1,009 posts)the early "not good enough Bernie" type ratfucks. These were coordinated by paid ratfuckers and unpaid useful idiots, and were unfortunately quite effective at painting Bernie and supporters as racist, white supremicists, commies, anarchists, etc.
The people behind this, like the Brocks, are professional filth pedelers who slither through the gutter like filthy worms wallowing in their own shit, and leaving a trail of filthy slime which is easy to follow if you look.

(39,451 posts)Project Inform. There is an activist from this wonderful non profit that is a Hillary supporter that is all over the internet trashing Bernie. Bernie is trying to get the price of AIDS medication lowered and some in this organization are saying that doing this might put the availability of this drug in jeopardy. I haven't really studied it much more than that. Sounds strange but like I said I havent researched it.
With all the vitriol coming out of this one activist it would only make sense that he would be trying to paint Bernie as a homophobe.
Just my gut feeling because he has been super ugly, nervous about Bernie lately. Please don't repeat it but do keep this in the back of your mind.

Interesting, huh?
With so few followers even paying attention to him, how did these get into the spotlight?

(58,724 posts)Obviously, this stunt would get him attention.
It looks like the video got picked up by The Source magazine and then took off from there.
The sad thing is how pathetic news outlets are about checking their info before publishing.
I guess that's what the internet new media age is all about.
