http://poststar.com/news/opinion/editorial/endorsement-obama-s-record-mixed-but-deserves-four-more-years/article_1cf9d110-2630-11e2-9793-001a4bcf887a.htmlThis is a little surprising given that they've endorsed Republicans in the down-ticket races. It's a center-right paper so this paragraph jumped out at me:
We do want to see more fire from President Obama and hope that, if he wins, he approaches the job of dealing with Republicans in Congress in a more clearsighted and ruthless way. Pledging bipartisanship before he has even pushed for his program, as he did early in his administration, comes across as weakness.

Bipartisanship = weakness? Typical RW thinking.

On edit: you are correct about the crazy perception among the RW that bipartisanship = weakness. Imagine their reaction if Democrats announced they were going to dig in their heels and remain recalcitrant about everything the 'pugs sent their way.

It surprises me that they are not taking the Republican line that Obama wasn't "reaching out" and being bipartisan enough.

This is a particularly red district, most Republican congressional candidates ran unopposed until we were fortunate enough to elect Kirsten Gillibrand in 2006. Now that she's senator and we're redistricted, it's a toss up. *sigh* That's the reason this endorsement is really amazing and important.
