I've got wonder about their screeners.
I would not let some of those callers clean my gutters,
much less voice their idiocy to the nation.

but I've heard enough here on DU to know that its callers are notorious for their wingnuttery.

but I'll take a pass. If I'd had the slightest interest in listening to mouth-breathing troglodytes at any time over the years, I would have already tuned in. I can get a fine distillation of the gist anytime I want on DU or any number of liberal websites.

Recommends knowing your enemy.
That is why I listen.

Perhaps you already have a fairly good comprehension of these people.
Myself? I learn something new everyday.
Which is why I can't sleep.

I admire your self control and the fact that you restrain
from watching the train wreck.
I find it fascinating to watch in a sociological frame.
How on earth did we sing to this level of ignorance among our
citizenry?
It is astounding.

or listen to it as the case might be, but I'm more of a 'highlights' sort of guy. This carries over to other aspects of my life as well, such as at work, as I use the 'highlighter' pen quite sparingly. When I see the work of others who highlight practically everything on a page, I intone, 'when EVERYTHING is marked as important, NOTHING becomes important.'

As for 'ignorance,' I believe that's a topic worthy of documentaries, doctoral studies & dissertations all unto itself. It's astounding how many people embrace ignorance willfully; it's as though they're PROUD of their ignorance - as though it's somehow virtuous to be ill-informed and somehow 'better than' the pointy-headed intellectuals, scientists & philosophers who actually give serious thought to the human condition and how the world works.

I recommend a sedative while you listen though.

It is horrifying to listen to some of the callers.
