Other than the Presidential contest, which races will you be watching most closely on Tuesday?

Last edited Sun Nov 4, 2012, 09:59 AM - Edit history (1)

I live in red Georgia, so I do not have much hope for any change here. I am, however, keenly interested in:

Warren vs Scott Brown
Powell vs Cantor
McCaskill vs Akin
Sherrod Brown vs Mandell

Lots of others, but these come to mind immediately.

Elizabeth Warren taking out the naked man Scott Brown.

Also, hopefully Tammy Baldwin beating Tommy Thompson.

Also Maine Dems taking back the Maine House of Reps and possibly the Maine Senate too.

To legalize gay marriage.

This by the way is a great idea for a thread. I was asked by some progressive non-American/new-American coworkers what they should be paying attention to and was going to make a list. This will help.

I think both of them would help to clear out the bullshit some Dems on the Hill buy into. They both are not afraid to speak the truth. Hell, those two together would be a great pair to run in 2016 regardless of which one is on the top of the ticket.

Yes, they both deserve the theatrical hook to pull them offstage.

Also, now that I think of it, I wonder what's going on with Mick Mulvaney in South Carolina. He ousted John Spratt last time out...

17. Baldwin vs. Thompson

Nov 2012

Warren vs Brown will probably be DEM

As will McCaskill vs Akin and Brown vs Mandel.

Those 3 are pretty solid-looking and the Republicans in each race would have to outpoll most of their polling numbers to win.

The one I am a little more uncertain about and interested to see how it turns out is Baldwin vs. Thompson. Thompson has come back strong in recent weeks and Baldwin's lead is narrower now, although Nate still projects she will win. If she can prevail, it is likely the Dems will hold onto the Senate since the other seats above already look good.
