(304 posts)We need to win Hamilton County. We need people voting there.

(6,363 posts)Just some observations from Hamilton County based on working in the intersection of both camps (don't ask, it's that weird real world job where I have to watch what I say most times)
When I talk to folks working for Obama, I get the sense they're working three tracks. 1) Shore up the base. 2) Talk to republicans and be willing to have the door slammed in your face. 3) GOTV.
When I talk to folks working for Romney, all I hear is shore up the base type of stuff. They seem to be talking to the "safe" folks in the northeast suburbs and western hills. These are folks who decided their 2012 vote back in 2008.
Obama door knockers talk about seeing a lot of people who just don't agree with us yet. Romney phone callers (because they don't seem to be walking the streets as much) talk about how exciting it is that everyone seems to have the message already. That tells me Romney's campaign is preaching to the choir and Obama's campaign is out scraping for converts.
When I combine that with the long lines down on Broadway at the Board of Elections (in all kinds of weather), it gives me hope that Hamilton County and this weird city of Cincinnati can do their part on Tuesday.
