Question for swing staters

What state are you from? How does this race "feel" compared with 2008. Are people fired up? Is there a lot of energy? Does the other side seem fired up, too? How confident are you of an Obama victory in your state? I'm in MA, so an Obama victory here is a forgone conclusion. And, by the way, thank you for all you've done. When Obama wins, it will be because of all the hard work done by the swing state progressives like you.

We've been buried in politics for 2.5 years now. Constant campaigning. We're all very very tired. I cannot wait for this to be over.

Despite being a 'swing' state again, I think Obama will AGAIN win handily here.

Democrats vote like hell in presidential elections and sadly do not in mid-term or special elections. I think we timed the recall poorly, didn't run a good campaign, I ADORE Barrett, but he wasn't the guy for that race, etc, etc, etc. We lost that, but 2012 is ours.

Obama will still win decidedly.

I see the same number of Obama signs as before, and the people here (I live in probably the deepest red part of Ohio by the way) seem pretty fired up -- even had fellow Obama supporters knock on the door. I'm confident.

People are sick of the ads. They dont believe any of things that Romney says. Ive heard republicans say they cant stand Mitt. Thats a good thing.

While the excitement for Obama isn't quite what it was in '08, there still seems to be more enthusiasm on our side than on the Republican side.

I know the GOP had an awesome 2010 and those people have not let up! I see Romney signs everywhere...Their side was not like that at all back in 2008.

My assessment is Florida will be truly 50-50 late on November 6th. It may look exactly like it did in 2000, few hundred votes may decide the state

Rethugs are fired up more than anytime I can remember, every other yard has some kind of anti-Obama sign or Romney sign, there are very few Obama signs. Now I do admit this is coal country and bigot country. The TV and radio is Romney, Mandel, Bill Johnson, War on Coal 24/7. I think the Democratic turnout here will be pretty bad.

I see few yard signs here in Madison, far fewer than in '08. But the TV commercials for President, US Senate, and Ryan's seat in the House are sometimes just too much to take.

It really makes little difference in Madison, as Obama will likely get around 80% of the vote here, but rural and small town Wisconsin is a whole different matter. Though I have seen a lot of Obama signs when driving out in the country.

My observations here: BOTH sides have about half the energy they had in 2008.

I see about half as many Obama signs as in 2008, and I see about half as many Romney/Ryan signs as McCain/Palin in 2008.

A loud minority of Republicans was gaga and agog, head-over-heels for Palin, and their enthusiasm was loud and everywhere. There's nothing like that at all now.

Worked at the McLean office today. We finished canvassing early, made all our calls, had lots of people. We expect to send some volunteers to other locations on Tuesday.
, if we get enough people. So I don't see any lack of enthusiasm.
