Would you like to live in a swing state?

Feel like your state actually matters and get visits from the campaigns.

On the other hand, you are inundated with advertisements that you want to take a brick and chuck it at your tv.

Edit: By in, i meant live in

And I don't think it's true that we don't matter. A swing state is only important because the blue or red solid states are solid.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]I'm already a wreck, even in the very safe Blue State of California. If I were in a swing state, I'd have to be institutionalized or on horse tranquilizers in the closing weeks of each election cycle.

Joking, of course... sort of.

I would love to live in Ohio where I could actually vote to make a difference. Here nobody cares and many do not even turn out to vote.

It might seem to some that it would be nice to get the attention of the candidates and have regular appearances, but trust me it gets old. I sometimes wonder why I don't pack up and make the hour drive south where life would be much less stressful politically.

After years in Washington and Oregon, it feels like my vote will actually make a difference. It's also been fun working for the campaign here.

at least the Dems are to fundraise even if we aren't a swing state.

but i'm glad we are solidly Dem. but we still deal with a lot of ads and crap with those stupid propositions and idiots like whitman and fiorina spending a lot on ads even though they have little chance of winning.

TV is only watchable on the high number cable channels, even there the Mitt stuff has been creeping in as he looks for places to dump the last load of cash. At lunch in the office cafe they run broadcast local news, it is wall to wall Mitt v Barack, with a tad bit of traffic and weather and the occasional local pol with prostitute story.... I am looking forward to voting for the President first thing tuesday morning, and knowing the ads come down shortly.

I have a notion of finding a discarded Rmoney / Ryan sign and making a little work of art with it. Something along the lines of it crashing into the ground crumpled up a bit with faux smoke and flames. However, I have brand new energy efficient front windows (thanks to the Obama tax incentive) so I might reconsider.
