Approving of corruption when it benefits your own self interests is the same thing as approving of corruption across the board. Do the majority of Americans like the corrupt system of governance that we live under? Maybe. Have the majority of Americans come to fear democracy? Quite possibly. The Sanders event is a free concert and rally, open to the public. Online reservations are encouraged only.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is running against Sanders for the Democratic nomination, will have an event at the Greek Monday, but according to Montemayor, that event is a fundraiser, was long planned and is 100% ticketed.

You understand. The huge crowd would overwhelm the facility.

Clinton's event, days later, was already scheduled, and is to be a ticketed event with a crowd appropriate to the size of the facility.

Get it?

It is not the fault of the Clinton campaign that Sanders' organizers did not familiarize themselves with the rules and required crowd-size restraints of the venue.

Greek Sanders Rally Moved to L.A. Coliseum

According to Estevan Montemayor, spokesperson for Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu, the Sanders campaign was not able to finalize logistics for the last minute event, including traffic mitigations and a way to get around the city-run Greek Theater’s policy that all events must be ticketed. The Sanders event is a free concert and rally, open to the public. Online reservations are encouraged only.

“We did offer [the Sanders campaign] a few solutions,” Montemayor said, “but ultimately they decided to move the event to the Coliseum.”

as far as Hillary's event at the Greek on the 6th;

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is running against Sanders for the Democratic nomination, will have an event at the Greek Monday, but according to Montemayor, that event is a fundraiser, was long planned and is 100% ticketed.

Also by the sound of this, the event will be in the plaza, not in the coliseum proper.

the new location is easier access, has more parking and more room for audience.....even if the reasons are not good, I think the change is wise. The Greek, it's a whole set of issues.

to skip it. That's why the venue is so insistent upon actual issued ticketing, the neighborhood around it is rich and keeps the traffic nightmare as limited as possible, can't get up the road without a ticket or a resident ID. So events that have general admission or which really want as many as possible are not suited to the Greek. Limiting the size of a political crowd seems silly to me. Hillary's event is a fundraiser, tickets sold. It's great for that, once you get past the parking morass or if you have a driver.

Ricky Martin is still a top selling Latin artist who just released a Grammy-winning album last year. Andra day had a top 10 hit just last year (she's a new artist who has only released on album), and why deride Stevie Wonder? The man had hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, AND the 00s, and is a musical ICON!

Not a SINGLE has-been in that line up.

It is the Greek, and to get me to the Greek takes a full Stevie set or something that major. This same fundraiser at another venue would have already sold more tickets. The Greek is a pain in the ass. It has cache but potential attendees know the drill and unless it is a very strong draw many people just don't go there.

Longstanding rules that the Sanders team didn't like so they moved the event.
Rules that the Clinton event is complying with.

didn't like and/or read the rules.

One thing this primary has shown me about a Sanders White House is that it would not be organized and he'd have just as hard a time following rules as it seems Clinton did with her email server.

GRIFFITH PARK–A last minute concert and “Get Out the Vote” rally planned by campaign aides 24 hours ago for 2016 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was moved from the Greek Theater this afternoon to a plaza area at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

“We did offer a few solutions,” Montemayor said, “but ultimately they decided to move the event to the Coliseum.”

Large public events, such as the Sanders event or a street festival, for example, are organized and paid for by the event planner.............

The events are not identical. Clinton's event is is a ticketed fundraiser; Sanders' is open to the public, and hence needs more organisation which he has failed to put in place.

This is just another example of the Sanders' campaign lying and trying to damage the party he claims to want to represent.

It's the power center of the Democratic party establishment, some argue on the entire West Coast. Of course they are HRC supporters, they would do this in a heartbeat and they can.

I regard the LA City Council as the Tammany Hall of California.
