Stopping Trump

I am a Sanders supporter but will support Hillary if she wins the Nomination. I am hoping that Bernie will continue his Progressive Political Revolution no matter what. He will still lead from the Senate if he does not get the Nomination. We need more Sanders Democrats to run for office and change America for the better.

Anyway, I am very anti-Trump, and I think we need to focus our fire on Trump. Both Bernie and Hillary should work together on this. Trump is a dangerous Clown. I was looking at some images on Google showing Trump in clown face make-up. I think the images were from the cover of the New York Daily News.

If anyone out there is good with graphics, those images would make great posters and tee-shirts for anti-Trump demonstrators. I imagine the style of the image would be like a negative version of the old Obama "Hope" image, with Trump in Clown Make-up with the words "Trumpo The Clown" on the poster. Trump is a dangerous and obnoxious Clown and needs to be stopped. He calls Hillary "Crooked Hillary" and Bernie "Crazy Bernie". Maybe we should label him "Dumb Donald" and give him a taste of his own medicine.

Another Image I have thought of is a picture of Trump with a Swastika on his forehead and a poster with his Face and this image that also says simply "Stop Trump". I do not suggest the use of a Swastika lightly, but I think Trump and his Followers deserve this Image.

Trump is a sort of "Fascist Lite" and He and his People are often Crypto-Fascists. Fascism must be opposed at every turn, and we must use images like this to Tar and Feather Trump and show him and his People for what they are: Modern Fascists and some that are Nazi Sympathisers.

I saw a photo of an older woman at a Trump Rally giving a Nazi Salute. I think that sort of mentality underlays many Trump Followers. We must have an anti-Fascist Counter-Movement opposed to Trump and his People.

If you are not familiar, look up "White Rose" on Wikipedia. White Rose was an Anti-Nazi Movement within Germany during WWII. We need our own White Rose anti-Fascist Movement here in America to oppose Trump and his People.

Hopefully if you are reading this that you can spread the word and we could find some People who are good with graphics to help create these images so that we can spread them as a Meme. We need to propagate the "Stop Trump" Movement. As Democrats and Americans, we must use every peaceful weapon in our arsenal to Stop Trump.

I haven't recommended anything because I have only been here briefly. I am questioning what the point of these Message Boards are. A lot of people just snipe.

I would rather not go negative, but it seems to me there is a lot of smug, vaguely passive aggressive stuff, and sometimes direct insults. It is hard to be insulted and not want to fight back. I would prefer not to get involved in stuff like that from the beginning.

I have a sincere question- what is the point of these Forums? If it is just people on different sides of the issues attacking each other, it seems kind of pointless. I guess some people just like to fight. It is not really for me. Maybe there are Threads where people are civil and respectful to each other. Maybe I am missing them. Just my two cents.

you can't seriously have missed the acrimonious primary that we've been going through?

People who have been posting here for a dozen years are looking for new forums to join. Worse than that, many life-long Democratic Party supporters are ready to drop that support and change their party affiliation.

This is a fight for the soul of the party. We are not just going to hug this out, friend.

I appreciate the reply. Glad that some people here are civil even if they do not agree with me. I see your point about acrimony. The party has been divided before. See the 1968 Democratic Campaign and Humphrey versus McCarthy. We were fighting for the soul of the Party back then also.

I am concerned that we might not be able to unite after this acrimony. I know that it is difficult to make peace after so much bad blood, but remember, Nixon won in 68. We need to unite to stop a similar outcome with Trump. So, we need to unite, even if there is bad blood. I do not suggest that it is easy.

Anyway, thanks again for your reasonable response. It seems to me that there are a lot of obnoxious people on these Message Boards who seem incapable of having a rational discussion without resorting to insults and nonsense. So, thanks for being reasonable while making your point and not being one of those people.

Please point out one factual thing that I have said that is not true. It is fine to disagree with me, but if you can't do so respectfully and without insults, please do not even bother to respond. Have I ever personally insulted you? No. I have the right to my own opinions like you or anyone else. Resorting to insults rather than engaging in rational and respectful discussion tells me that you really have nothing useful, valid, or interesting to say. Sorry.

are all registered to vote and get them to go vote. Thinking up childish nicknames, participating on web forums, or creating anti-Trump web graphics is not activism.

GOTV is the only answer.

Thanks for posting. I still think that creating counter-propaganda is useful. The childish nicknames are responses to Trumps own childish nicknames. These sort of things resonate with people who are not critical thinkers, and I think we need to put these sort of things out there. There are many different ways of fighting. Again, thanks for the post.

I'll repeat that getting out the vote is the only thing that beats Trump. Protesting him (no matter how satisfying that feels) only feeds into his media image. Those protesters are helping Trump (wittingly or unwittingly).

7. A Question

If participating on web forums is not activism, what is it then? Are you saying that what people write here can have no bearing on changing other people's mind? What is the point of these Forums? These are sincere questions.

I would like respectful comments, especially from experienced posters here. Also, it is my understanding that protestors often use art, posters, and slogans when demonstrating, so it seems to me to be legit to talk about props like the images of Trump that I wrote about in the OP.

DU is a good place, I've made friends here, ridicule the opposition, learn stuff, but mostly just entertain myself. Don't mistake this place for having any great real world political significance. It is just a web-based hang out. On election day, all that matters is who is voting.

Wanna make a difference? Show up at your local Democratic meetings every week and see how you can help. That's activism. What you are describing as protest is nothing more than a circus.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong Forum.

I am new here and still trying to learn the ropes.

Part of my point with this Thread is to point out that the Hillary Camp and the Sanders Camp need to unite to defeat Trump.

I think this is relevant to the discussion. The Primary and the upcoming Convention are critical to sorting out the differences between Hillary and Bernie and their People.

So, part of my point (here and elsewhere) is that we need to figure out a way to broker a peace between Hillary and Bernie and their Supporters so that we can come out of the Primaries and the Convention is a strong position to beat Trump.

I think that pertains to the Primary Discussion.
