Isn't it so... pathetic. Any time there is a protester at a Romney (or repub) rally, they are shouted down with the USA! chant? Even for the Climate Change guy the other day. WTF? I feel sorry for these sheeple and how their ignorance is played...

(3,888 posts)7. I heard today on Mike Papantonio's radio show,
Ring of Fire that one of Romney's closest advisers is the Bush guy who first paid college professors to write "climate change doubt" articles. I can't remember his name but Papantonio suggested he would be on the short list for Chief of Staff.
Chanting USA to drown out Americans exercising their First Amendment right to freely speak, especially when that speech is being used to inform the public or question officials about issues that effect us all, is idiotic. It is the opposite of patriotism. It is un-American.
Americans used to proudly proclaim that we'd defend, to the death, others rights to speak even we we did not agree with what was being said. Is Voltaire out with the French Fries? Have Fair Play and the Golden Rule been replaced with Gerry Springer Rules?
Why do republican politicians encourage their supporters to shout down legitimate questions? Aren't they aware of how that makes them look to the viewing audience? Not like thrust-worthy arbiters of public justice.

(449 posts)8. Why USA! instead of Romney! is my question...
If it was an Obama rally - well, they would be much more civil and would probably let the person get a few sentences out -- but they wouldn't chant USA! at it. "4 more years" or "Obama" or something, but the USA! chant, to me, wreaks of this Kenyan/Muslim anti-American thing that Republican Sheeple seem to thrive on..
