That's pretty much what conservatives are saying when they accuse Obama of failing in his grand mission to be a unifier.
Anybody care to disagree?

(22 posts)I voted for Obama in 2008 mostly to enfranchise the 27% of America who flipped to the back of a civics text book and saw a jobs program for 43 white guys and maybe if they cracked that book in the right place, a two page spread on two black civil rights activists, both, coincidentally, shot to death in broad daylight, and now on to the gas shortage and Iran-Contra. The racism of these people is like the last surviving band of asiatic cheetahs, roaming a distant windswept corner of Who Caresistan. It's so starved of nutritional logic, so inbred from lack of environmental support, and so short of time on this earth. The kind thing to do would be to push it out on to an ice flow and let it die. The trouble would be finding an ice flow.

(22 posts)As disillusioned as I am with the Obama presidency I was never under the false impression that the castrated modern executive branch can change anything without the full and undivided attention of congress. A supreme court in your pocket doesn't hurt either, assuming you feel you could do without pesky things like habeus corpus.
