SurveyUSA: MISSOURI - (McCaskill +15); (Romney +7)

7:22 AM EST, MONDAY NOVEMBER 5, 2012

Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill is closing with a big lead, according to a new poll from SurveyUSA and commissioned by four in-state TV stations. McCaskill gets 51 percent of the total, GOP Rep. Todd Akin gets 36 percent, and Libertarian candidate Jonathan Dine sees 8 percent. The same poll shows Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney winning by 7 points, 50 percent to President Obama's 43 percent.

Akin's campaign has been steeped in controversy since he made his "legitmate rape" comments back in August.

The PollTracker Average of the race shows McCaskill with a solid lead in the final days.

2. While McCaskill has been ahead in most polls, and Nate projects her to win

This poll seems a bit generous in its numbers. No other poll has her up this high. So it may be overestimating her support, but nevertheless it's a good sign and perhaps it's only fair that our side has a poll which gives our candidate a boost since Akin's side did that with the Mason-Dixon poll a couple of weeks ago.

Just my reactions when I posted it.

...so I'd say Rasmussen was spot on in this case. Even a blind pig finds a truffle now and again.

I thought she would win, but not by that much.

So I have to give SurveyUSA credit - they predicted the race almost exactly!

Dana Loesch must be devastated she has been trying to promote Akin for weeks.
