2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumA question to all my fellow PA voters
Since it is not mandatory, do you plan on showing your photo ID when asked? I am thinking that I will politely decline on the grounds that it is not mandatory and I disagree with the intent behind the requirement. What will the rest of you do when asked? Just curious...

since I plan on voting mid morning, the sight of a full moon at that hour will just confuse the Republicans into thinking that the Rapture must be coming.

Absolutely not, just on principle, and I actually have a drivers license and another ID I could bring if I wanted to.
However, because this is the first time I've vote in PA, I will have to bring either a current utility, paycheck or government check with my name and address on it or I could bring an ID, but I won't bring an ID, I'll bring my utility bill.

(175 posts)First, the polling place was littered with signs, but the Obama/Biden sign was in clear view in front of the pack.
Romney sign was in the back bunched in with the rest, I really had to look for it. Foreshadowing?
I hope so!
Now:
This was my first time voting in PA, I never offered a photo ID. Instead, I presented my PA certificate of voter registration that I had received in the mail after registering to vote about 4 months ago.
Again, they never asked for a photo I.D. I never offered. Also everyone was nice.

(25,556 posts)I'm not that big, so when it comes out people jump. In 2008 I had a problem with a guy behind the desk and everyone knew about it quickly. He just put his head down and said, "he can vote". Of course I wasn't finished with him.

(14 posts)I showed my ID. I don't have a problem with the ID requirement, but I'm glad it's been delayed. Too many people didn't have time to prepare.

(24,764 posts)I just showed my voter registration card, printed out my name on a sheet of paper they gave me, signed the book, and voted--for Obama/Biden, Sen. Casey, Matt Cartwright for Congress, and the entire Democratic ticket--one at a time.
