It's not like this wasn't well known when she was SoS.
Take Qatar for instance:
Hillary Clinton's State Department, decided that the Qatar govt would be allowed to purchase 14 times more military hardware and services than before she took office. This was done despite the the fact that the Qatar govt. was associating with a known financier of terrorism.
Since 2008 a businessman from Qatar who has known ties to the ruling elite of Qatar has been on a world wide black list for funding terrorism. This person provided vast amounts of weapons and cash for terrorists in Syria & Iraq.
How is it possible for then Secretary of State Clinton to not know about the world wide blacklisted terrorist financier and his ties to members of the Qatar government? How much of those arms sold to Qatar ended up supplying terrorists?

The Clinton foundation also received between $1 million and $5 million from the country of Qatar. Hillary Clinton sometime after that increased military sales by 14 fold over what they received previously under the Bush administration.

He worked on Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign: And when she got the secretary of state job, the ever-loyal Clinton tried to bring him on as her adviser. But she ran into trouble with the Obama administration, which was upset with Blumenthal's attacks on Obama during the primary and nixed the idea.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2015/10/23/so-who-is-sidney-blumenthal/
Some of the information sent by Blumenthal has been now labeled classified. Of course Blumenthal didn't label it as such when he sent even though ti came from a former CIA person still in the loop at the time.
As I explained in this column in January, one of the most controversial of Ms. Clintons emails released by the State Department under judicial order was one sent on June 8, 2011, to the Secretary of State by Sidney Blumenthal, Ms. Clintons unsavory friend and confidant who was running a private intelligence service for Ms. Clinton. This email contains an amazingly detailed assessment of events in Sudan, specifically a coup being plotted by top generals in that war-torn country. Mr. Blumenthals information came from a top-ranking source with direct access to Sudans top military and intelligence officials, and recounted a high-level meeting that had taken place only 24 hours before.
To anybody familiar with intelligence reporting, this unmistakably signals intelligence, termed SIGINT in the trade. In other words, Mr. Blumenthal, a private citizen who had enjoyed no access to U.S. intelligence for over a decade when he sent that email, somehow got hold of SIGINT about the Sudanese leadership and managed to send it, via open, unclassified email, to his friend Ms. Clinton only one day later.

And you can thank the hacking of Blumenthal's email account for all of this mess being brought to the light to begin with.

I find it ironic that since Hillary left State that our foreign policy has been more doveish than when she was SoS and Hillary is given a pass on the hawkish nature from her time in the position.

I had a prepaid phone I'm Egypt and my monthly bill was $500 US a month, I paid nearly double that in Qatar.

Pinning it on radical Islam isn't addressing the heart of this, it is an LGBT hate crime. Start a good quality domestic education and policy program in response to this, don't rev up the Muslim hate.

(11,076 posts)That makes as much sense as attacking Iraq when it was Saudi Arabians who did 911. Oops..and now she is funded by the same people that did 911 and is yelling at them for something they didn't do? The wheels are not on the road here. Hill supporters should be wondering about all of this.

The fact that the Clinton Foundation hired him to work with Hill when The President refused to let her work directly with Him. This all rolled into the server scandal. (1,561 posts)Saudi Arabia Has Funded 20% Of Hillary's Presidential Campaign, Saudi Crown Prince Claims
The third area that demands attention is preventing radicalization and countering efforts by ISIS and other international terrorist networks to recruit in the United States and Europe. For starters, it is long past time for the Saudis, the Qataris and the Kuwaitis and others to stop their citizens from funding extremist organizations. And they should stop supporting radical schools and mosques around the world that have set too many young people on a path towards extremism. We also have to use all our capabilities to counter jihadist propaganda online. This is something that I spend a lot of time on at the State Department.
There is nothing wrong with that statement, as it is the whole truth - Saudi Arabia's involvement in supporting terrorism stretches from Sept 11 all the way through to ISIS - however, where there is a big, and potentially law-breaking, problem is what Jordan's official news agency, Petra News Agency, reported on Sunday citing the Saudi crown price, namely that Saudi Arabia is a major funder of Hillary Clintons campaign to become the next president of the United States.
As MEE notes, the Petra News Agency published on Sunday what it described as exclusive comments from Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman which included a claim that Riyadh has provided 20 percent of the total funding to the prospective Democratic candidate's campaign.
The report was later deleted and the news agency has not responded to requests for comment from Middle East Eye. However, the deletion took place too late, as the Washington-based Institute for Gulf Affairs managed to capture the report and has re-published the original Arabic Petra report, which quoted Prince Mohammed as having said Saudi Arabia had provided with full enthusiasm an undisclosed amount of money to Clinton.

Her senior spokesman advocating for greater surveillance of "Islamic element" and now this aggressive lashing out at governments we give millions of dollars of weapons, much of it under the premise to fight terrorism.
Leveraging this attack to make political points seems tactless.
Our nation exports more weapons than all the top ten 1st world nation exports combined. comcombined.
It is very hard to take these comments as self-serving and opportunistic.
