if they were reporting obama has it in the bag then people might think it doesn't matter so much if they vote. but neck and neck means every vote counts.

4. Exactly, if the pre-election media talking points are that it's so close--either candidate can win

The chattering class will not be surprised with Buchanan takes thousands and thousands of votes in Miami / Dade County.

Selling a horse race clearly helps the person ahead. Hell, if Obama were ahead by 10 in PA and poised for a landslide nationally, I may have made good on my threat not to vote in this election because Obama has been lousy on some of my major issues. But given the possibility of maybe a horse race in PA, I'm there. Supreme Court, Supreme Court, Supreme Court.

6. Good for turnout; lousy for unity.

I fully expect, looking at all the polling aggregates, that Obama's got this. And I believe the msm knows it ...and has known it for weeks. They pimp the tie, and yes, it probably helps turnout.

But I also fear they've ginned up the tie deception (and Romentum) so much that it's made the divisions in our country even more hateful. The way the GOP screwed themselves by ginning up the Tea Party (which is now devouring the gop from within), I think the msm has fed the scary low-info voter beast and now may be unable to walk back the mess they created.

I fear they will be even more hateful about the president and Democrats than before. The msm made them BELIEVE this election was theirs to lose. When they do lose, they're going to go insane.

"Too close to call" sells ad time. Ohio must be filthy rich, when you consider the estimated $1.5B being spent.
