On Sunday morning, Americans woke up to yet another horrific act of terrorism that took the lives of 49 innocent people and injured dozens more—almost all LGBT people of color, murdered by hate and a military-grade gun that should never have ended up in the terrorist's hands in the first place.

And how did Donald Trump respond? He congratulated himself for "being right" about terrorism. He implied President Obama secretly sympathizes with terrorists. He gave a "national security speech" where he doubled down on his proposal to ban on Muslims immigrating into the country. He attempted to use LGBT rights (he doesn't support them) to justify more hateful rhetoric against an entire religious group that has nothing to do with terrorism. And he banned Washington Post reporters from covering public events on his campaign—because he doesn't like what they write about him.

Since Donald secured the nomination, we've been left to imagine what President Trump would do in the aftermath of a disaster. Now we know: He'll aggrandize himself. He'll sow division, play on fear, and spur more hate and violence. He'll embarrass us on the world stage, and maybe do much worse.

We can't let him get anywhere near the Oval Office.
