Related: About this forumBob Dylan predicts Obama 'in a landslide'
Dylan spoke to the Madison audience as he was wrapping up his concert that came just hours after Obama appeared at a morning rally in the same city with rocker Bruce Springsteen.
Dylan made his comments during his encore when he said, "We tried to play good tonight since the president was here today."
He went on to say he thinks Obama will prevail Tuesday.
Dylan says, "Don't believe the media. I think it's going to be a landslide."

(507 posts)used Fanfare for the Common Man in one last, ultimate bit of deceptive campaigning. Leave it to Romney to steal a piece by a gay, Jewish, New York guy who got his ass hauled in front of the Red hunters. I somehow suspect Aaron Copland wouldn't have authorized it.

(9,385 posts)It's funny, POTUS's first election reminded me of this song, but of course now it seems to fit this election even better. Who knows, maybe Dylan is right about a ("sea changing"?) landslide. Hope so. Have to admit, I've had a hunch in that direction myself... was afraid to jinx it by saying so, though.
Oh the time will come up
When the winds will stop
And the breeze will cease to be breathin'
Like the stillness in the wind
Before the hurricane begins
The hour that the ship comes in
Then the sea will split
And the ships will hit
And the sands on the shoreline will be shakin'
Then the tide will sound
And the waves will pound
And the morning will be a-breakin'
Oh the fishes will laugh
As they swim out of the path
And the seagulls they'll be a-smilin'
And the rocks on the sand
Will proudly stand
The hour that the ship comes in
And the words that are used
For to get the ship confused
Will not be understood as they're spoken
For the chains of the sea
Will have busted in the night
And be buried on the bottom of the ocean
A song will lift
As the mainsail shifts
And the boat drifts on to the shoreline
And the sun will respect
Every face on the deck
The hour that the ship comes in
Then the sands will roll
Out a carpet of gold
For your weary toes to be a-touchin'
And the ship's wise men
Will remind you once again
That the whole wide world is watchin'
Oh the foes will rise
With the sleep still in their eyes
And they'll jerk from their beds and think they're dreamin'
But they'll pinch themselves and squeal
And they'll know that it's for real
The hour that the ship comes in
And they'll raise their hands
Sayin' 'we'll meet all your demands'
But we'll shout from the bow 'your days are numbered!'
And like Pharaoh's tribe
They'll be drownded in the tide
And like Goliath, they'll be conquered

(11,605 posts)Over the summer, I saw Obama give Bob Dylan the lifetime achievement award, and they played "The Times They Are A Changin" in the background. Just the day before, I had rewatched the episode of West Wing where they play "The Times They Are a Changin" in the scene where the president gets reelected. I said to my dad at the time that I thought it was a good sign.

(3,931 posts)He must feel very strongly about it. I've seen him perform live about 10 times and the only time he said much of anything was after Paul Wellstone died, to dedicate a song to him.
Seeing him again in two weeks!
