2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumGood news for Democrats in Missouri.
I just returned from voting in rural Missouri. Short lines and very low turnout. Less than half the number of voters who would normally have voted by this time in a presidential election.

(12,904 posts)There are no Romney signs of support anywhere. There are several Obama bunker stickers in the parking lot, though.

(1,040 posts)I grew up in a rural Southern Missouri town (damn near Arkansas). It is as Republican and conservative as you get - most local town and county races the Republlicans run unopposed. The big cities in MO (Kansas City and St. Louis) are more Democrat and that's the only thing that keeps the State of Missouri from actually moving backward in time.

(409 posts)I also noticed the extremely low voter turnout this morning compared to every other time I've voted here.

(450 posts)VERY light turnout so far according to friends who have voted. I'll be going out at noon and will be interested to see turnout #s then. Hope this means the conservatives aren't inspired enough to go out and vote for Romney or Akin.
