My husband says we should pop the champagne if Obama carries Virginia 'cause it's over.

I said sure, but if he wins NC we are going to open the GOOD stuff, 'cause it will be over with boom!

agree with you. Everybody is saying North Carolina will go to Romney but I just don't see it in the numbers. The African American, Hispanic and others vote are the key. Everyone points out the unaffiliated but the most increases in new voters are in those three groups. The unaffiliated votes increase could be coming from white Dixiecrats changing their registration since 2008. 16 percent of them voted for McCain. I think this increase had some African Americans and Hispanics registering unaffiliated also which mostly lean Democrat. Obama is getting more support in the independent vote than he got in 2008. John McCain got over 64 percent of the Independent vote in 2008.

Even though the Democrats have lost a lot of voters to the Unaffiliated group, they are now on the plus side of the 2008 election day vote by some 4,000 votes. Between the African American,Hispanic and others which includes biracial or Asian, they have over 300,000 new voters. So I think they are all wrong about North Carolina just like 2008. Nobody in 2008 predicted Obama would win North Carolina.

But apparently before you get to blue state status, there's some hazing, in the forms of constant ads, that you have to get through first.

We would need a night like Election Night 2008 to flip NC and I don't think we're going to get it.

Honestly those are picks that I wouldn't make if I was being objective, but I don't think it's out of the question that Obama wins those states.

I have to pick SC because I moved from Ohio to SC earlier in the year. I wish we stayed in Ohio until after the election, but didn't work out that way. However, the bright side I saw on an election map that South Carolina changed colors from solid pink to light pink. I live upstate SC and I see a lot more Obama stickers/signs than Romney. I know it won't go blue, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe we could change the Red Belt state to blue in the next election!

Well, call me pessimistic.

Only see sleepers that hurt President Obama. Possibly losing Wiscosin, Ohio, and how about losing parts of
Maine.

Do see Obama winning Colorado if he pulls off alot of swing states.

I live here, and I'm not saying it will happen for sure. However, I can tell you this. The democrats here have never been more passionate.

Even if we don't go blue this time, something has changed about this state. Something has changed forever. You can thank Obama for that.

This state is so divided. The big cities are so blue it hurts and the rural east is so red it bleeds. The good thing is... we have more people living in our big cities, and our many college campuses.

In fact we have 200 in this state alone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colleges_and_universities_in_North_Carolina

It is a tense situation here. Very tense, but believe that the democrats are working until there are blisters on their fingers.
