Ohio – Wrong Ballots for Black Voters - Greg Palast

Several thousand African-American voters in Dayton, Ohio, may find their ballots left uncounted, and they, and America, won’t know it––even if the lost votes change the presidency.

First, you need to know, there are two elections for President in Ohio held on two days and in two colors.

Today, White Ohio will vote: Evangelicals, rurals, small businessmen, big and bigger businessmen, the whole Rotary Club.

Black Ohio already voted. More African-Americans vote early than on the official Election Day.

The big day for African-Americans––and for Barack Obama’s hopes for reelection––was on Sunday, “Souls to the Polls” day, when church buses filled with the ladies of the choir and their men vote as a group.
>
After the hours of waiting, the patient citizens got their ballots—or thought they did. They didn’t get ballots. They got this: “APPLICATION FOR ABSENT VOTER’S BALLOT.”

WHAT???????

It seems that every election there are underhanded maneuvers being pulled. How can they continue to get away with it?

If they aren't the Feds need to be sued or shot or whatever.

Here we have an election that is crutial to the future of America and our way of life and
we have these idiots pulling all this crap.

Look at the other post that tells of an analyst who has found "anomolies in the data"
for the past Ohio elections since 2000 for all elections (presidential, senatorial, gubernatorial, etc.)
I hope this blows these criminal misfits straight to hell!

Sorry, I'd give you a link but for every 5 minutes there are another 20 posts today.

The state is corrupt

The election process is corrupt

The congress is bought

Who has the control to correct the situation - Only the Feds, right?

What has been done so far?

Obviously - not enough because the Ohio sec of state still has his fingers
in the Ohio voting process and he has been trying to manipulate the system
for the past 5 months.

My statement is rediculous only if you take it literally.
Sorry, I should say someone needs to be resopnsible for correcting the situation
And, it needs to be before the next election.

and there was a sign that said early voting is absentee voting. After we filled out a paper we were given which was probably the application for absentee voter ballot (although I didn't actually look at what it said) they verified it and they gave us an envelope to fill out and after that was done they gave us our ballot which we had to seal in the envelope when we were done filling it out. I live in a very republican area and was a little nervous about voting this way, but I've been helping with GOTV and they said that the campaign wanted everyone to early vote. I don't know if thats what happened there, but that was my experience.

In Ohio, of course.

The poll workers gave you a paper ballot with a numbered privacy envelope. You went into a little booth with a canvas drape over your head, marked your ballot, and put in in the privacy envelope.

I returned to the polling desk to turn over my ballot, where ostensibly the first worker would note my **PRIVACY** envelope number and hand it to the next worker who would check it off and drop it into the ballot box.

When I handed my ballot enclosed in the **PRIVACY** envelope, he opened it and looked at my vote. I couldn't believe it, being part of the 60s generation that didn't trust anything in the government. I yelled "that man's looking at my ballot!" The idiot responded "I just wanted to make sure you voted."

I left that stupid state 30 years ago (but still have many fine friends back there that I respect and love and who actually have functioning brains). Politically, though, Ohio is just ugh. Dumping Strickland for Kasich? And don't get me started on Boehner, or however you spell it.

ETA: No offense to fellow Buckeyes. I still like cardinals, red carnations, the Indians and the Browns. But this political horse-hockey is just so aggravating. BTW, Ohio managed to give us John Glenn, who's a real American and a Democrat. Yay.

If UPS can track 2 billion+ pieces of mail why can't my vote be tracked? I want a receipt that says my vote was received and counted.
