Just reported my southern IL precinct for asking everyone for ID.

that is not the law in illinois.

when i was asked for my voter registration card or other form of id,
i said no i don't have it. the poll workers answer was "you have to
have id". I said I don't believe that is the law. snarky poll worker
said "well how do you get around without a drivers license?" I said
I never said i didn't have a drivers license on me. I was answering
that i don't have my voter registration card.

snarky lady then said to the guy handing out ballots "61" and then
he got a ballot from one of 3 piles (i'm pretty sure it was 3, but not sure).
I filled out my ballot on an optical scan sheet and the scan machine
accepted it. I was voter 161.

when i went outside i called 866 OUR VOTE and reported the incident.
the helpful person who handed my call confirmed that they are not supposed
to be asking everyone for id.. only first time voters in a federal election
or those who have been inactive. i've been voting at the same precinct
for 11 years and haven't missed any elections other than local ones.
i vote in every presidential and every mid term election..

and one of the election judges stood up while I was there and announced loudly that people didn't have to show ID and to put away their wallets.

Thank you for reporting your experience.

and he told the person "You know I don't legally have to do that, right"?

Someone just reported electronic voling machines flipping his Obama vote for Romney,

luckily, he reported this also, and the machine was de-commissioned, but I'm wondering

if the Repukes aren't in Full Theft Mode and I'm getting concerned.

Had a guy working the scanner telling people how he is glad there are more Republican judges this year. Making general off handed comments about Democrats. Making the seniors present very nervous I could tell. One couple was saying "well, it's had when Congress isn't doing anything." Ha...as you know, it's red as red in many places down here. I voted(line was about ten minutes, if that) and told him on the way out he was breaking the law.
