Brexit is already blowing up and Trump will look like a fool for pimping it

Ratings agency Moody's said Britain's creditworthiness was now at greater risk after voting to leave the European Union, as the country would face substantial challenges to successfully negotiate its exit from the bloc.

Moody's assigned a negative outlook to its 'Aa1' rating for British government debt after a Thursday referendum showed that a clear majority of Britons wanted to leave the EU, prompting Prime Minister David Cameron to announce he would resign.

"During the several years in which the UK will have to renegotiate its trade relations with the EU, Moody's expects heightened uncertainty, diminished confidence and lower spending and investment to result in weaker growth," the agency said.

In response to criticism by Vote Leave, which accuses economists of scare-mongering, Pissarides said that forecasting was difficult, and economists might disagree or get it wrong, but in this case they were overwhelmingly in favour of remaining.

He said it was absurd that out campaigners were trying to dismiss economists as irrelevant.

“Britain will not thrive outside the EU,” he added. “The biggest negative impact will be felt over the next five years, but it will persist through the lack of investment and the weaker bargaining position that Britain will have in future negotiations.”

Inflation caused by a weakened pound will hurt working folks the most because the less income you have the more of it you spend on necessities.

In sticking it to The Man they have stuck it to themselves.

The future of the US economy and our social fabric will not tolerate a move like Brexit. Already the older bigots who voted for it are feeling some remorse as they see their pensions evaporate overnight. Cutting off your nose to spite your xenophobic face is not very smart. I believe they will rue the day.

I know it requires negotiations with the EU to get out. Is there any chance the negotiations will blow up and another referendum will be called? I confess I don't know a ton about how this works.

I heard that the vote wasn't binding, so it might be theoretically possible that it won't happen. But the Prime Minister who was actually fighting to remain in the EU will step down while most likely someone who was for the leave will succeed him. Someone like Boris Johnson cannot make a 180° turn and say that it might not be a good idea because he would lose all credibility. His career would be over. For these resons, I have little hope that an exit can be prevented.

have heard this will cause massive un-employment and deflation in Briton. I heard that the poorly educated
are the ones that voted for it and they will be the ones that are hurt most. We know that Trump loves the Poorly Educated.
I am looking for this to blow up in Trump's face over the next several months.

Yes, it will probably be much cheaper for tourists, but I expect to see a lot of unhappy merchant faces when we buy their bargain basement meals and souvenirs. People living in those financial circumstances are very distraught. I saw the same thing when we visited Eastern Europe and other places, undergoing recessions. Blaming tourists is irrational, but humans love to scapegoat. Keeps them from facing responsibility for their own actions.

Exactly. That was the whole point of the EU. Be part of a bigger unit with a better bargaining position.
