Some interesting Madison, Wisconsin tweets on election...

Care of the Madison Cap Times:

Jack Craver @JackCraverRT @CammyAlbert: Gordon commons voter turnout around 42% w/ 1,049 ballots cast around 1 pm @BadgerHerald #election2012 (This is a campus area, so turnout is pretty good at this point)

1:57 PMDee J. Hall @deejhallRT @BadgerHerald: Update: Fire alarm at Memorial Union has delayed the polls (Probably a dirty trick by UW Student Republicans)

Dean Mosiman @deanmosimanNearly half of registered voters cast ballots at two wards in Madison Municipal Bldg. by 1:45 p.m. Ahead of 2008 pace. (My voting place)

Dean Mosiman @deanmosimanMinor opening glitch with ballots resolved at Madison's Ward 62 on near West Side. More than half of registered voters voted by 1 p.m.

regarding problems with machines in three polling places (Madison and a nearby municipality).

Apparently short-term problems that were "resolved," but this just illustrates our need for hand counted paper ballots!

Hopefully these are good numbers for midday. I think by the end of the day they will have 65-70% turnout statewide.

& lift fingerprints.

These days damn near everyone has prints on file. Particularly if they have a history of vandalism, which is likely the case here.

This is the US of A. Can't we have an honest election? I mean what the hell is wrong with us?
