Related: About this forumWTF is Trump even doing in goddam Scotland, anyway?
Opening a golf course? A fucking *golf course*? And making smug statements about how good an economic downturn is for his interests? I mean, forget for the moment the sheer idiocy of his comments. This man is supposed to be running for *President of the United States*. His campaign is in shambles, there's no real organization, the GOP hates him, he hates them, and there's continued mumbling about a convention coup. Doesn't he get that this is a serious business, something that--you know--requires his attention? There is something seriously wrong with this man...I know we make jokes about it, but joking aside, he and his campaign are a farce. He has to lose, and lose by a lot...

(15,039 posts)and second -- and perhaps even more important -- while there he'll be treated (in the main) with the deference and requisite ass-kissing he requires to make himself feel important. After the shellacking he and his campaign took the past few weeks, he sought refuge and surcease from his troubles in the only way he's ever known how to attain it -- impressing people with his money and paying them to defer to him.
Expect him to pull similar stunts like this throughout his campaign, sometimes at the worst moments (as seen by an outside observer), because he won't be able to withstand the pressure or the abuse.
He's a very small man, with very little going for him, and he knows it in those quiet moments when his ego permits him to see himself for what he truly is.

(10,158 posts)It's all about him first, then his businesses, then maybe his family - and the country at best a distant fourth. I don't think he's realized yet that in the (I hope) remote chance that he becomes president he's just taken on a more than full-time job and won't be able to personally run his "empire".
