Was the $6 billion spent on this election wasted?
If the polls are correct, we're going to end up with what we had going into this election: Obama as president, a Democratic-controlled Senate, and a Republican-controlled House.
This election has cost us $6 billion -- couldn't this money have been spent more productively than funding an electoral arms race that simply maintains the status quo?
Yes, of course, but money is speech, according to the U.S. Supreme Court. As long as that's the case, money will keep talking -- until it discovers that voters aren't listening.

I know that many are trying their damnest to down-play a President Obama re-election cuz "Democrats didn't gain in the House" or "Democrats didn't gain enough in the Senate." But I don't see it that way ... The whole of this election was about the choice in direction for this great nation, as represented by the candidates. A President Obama re-election will answer that question and the House gop (if for no other reason, their own political survival) will take note.
