2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumStress Eating for Obama
My mother just texted me that she's eaten half a bag of Pepperidge Farm Chess shortbread cookies, and I just ate two biscotti. Even though I believe Obama will be reelected, I keep snacking. At least I ran five miles earlier.
How are you all dealing with nerves the next few hours?

(35 posts)Your mother is not alone. I'm dealing with it by checking in at various chats. What a nerve racking time!

(35 posts)I hadn't thought of that. But you know how when someone mentions something and then you just can't get it off your mind?

(19,458 posts)told myself a few weeks ago that politics makes bad bedfellows, and banned political thoughts from my head when I go to sleep.. but to no avail. I'm not nervous, exactly. I'm more like a kid on the first day of school. Kind of excited AND nervous!!

(5,810 posts)Have not eaten any but will later. Also making some crescent roll thingies with turkey sausage crumbles and cheese. Might do a tray of sweet peppers, grilled asparagus and goat cheese. We'll eat good no matter how things turn out. Fingers are crossed that all of our fretting is for nothing. Won't we feel silly (but relieved) when that happens?!!
Oh, got something cold, bubbly and alcoholic chilling for when we get to 270 +!!

(2,715 posts)1.) There are no dirty dishes, nor clothes, nor dusty shelves in Casa de Geek.
2.) There is now enough fake Thai soup to feed the block.
3.) I've started cataloging and moving the books. All 15,000 of them.
I don't count this as extreme. I've got a friend who's a fellow Maker, who craft tables with hidden drawers. THAT'S a stress coping reaction.

(14,177 posts)Can't concentrate. I will probably get a C on my geo test. I really hope it doesn't come down to that. But, I got 2 hours of study in last night, so I should be ok. Still this is much more nerve wracking than I thought it would be. If I have to stress eat, I am going to have a nice warm bowl of oatmeal and raisins, it's hard to over do oatmeal.

(19,458 posts)I'm a bit of a stress eater. My roomie is making curry chicken for me tonight, because he knows that I'll be too geeked to cook. Gonna be munching on Trader Joes chips and such all night, maybe a bowl of cereal. haha

Starry Messenger
(32,342 posts)for my birthday last month. Those are almost gone. Let's see, what else. Half a bag of TJ's blister peanuts, chips in avocado oil, rice crackers, three loaves of sourdough in the last two weeks and I just had half a calzone and my partner is tempting me with a bottle of champagne he got on sale at work.
If we have screen-name changes I might have to change mind to Eatey Messenger. Or Moby Dick.
