Election Quality Control in Ohio - another great example
Northwest School District sits up on the northern edge of Hamilton County. Until today, I thought 100% in Hamilton County...but today I learned that one little precinct (69 voters) are up in Butler County (that's Boner country for those of you not familiar with our local geography).
There's a levy on the ballot today...except for those 69 voters. Seems that the Butler County folks "forgot" to include the levy on the electronic ballot so it turns out those 69 voters didn't see the levy...until an attentive voter asked. Whoops. That's ok - we'll just call up for some paper ballots and hand them out to folks, and we'll just collect them over there in that pile. It'll all be ok - trust us.
Fine for the people later in the day but there's no recourse for those who already voted and didn't realize they missed part of the ballot.
In an area where school levys are sometimes decided +/- 15 votes, this could have a material effect on the outcome.
More important to me - these are the guys we trust to manage elections and they can't even get the small stuff right.
